So I purchased a pin recently on ebay (PD20110, #22538) and it just came in the mail today. The pin was pretty obviously warped and the back had strange bumps. Overall it looked okay but it pissed me off how warped it was. I decided to try and bend it back in place and almost immediately it snapped. The center of the pin is a dark charcoal. So am I kind of screwed in this situation? I feel like if I had just mentioned it was warped to the seller they may have refunded it but they didn't note in the description that it was both warped and oddly bumpy. I should also mention that I purchased a second pin from the seller (in the same order but a different auction) and they had to refund it because the pin back was broken before it was even sent. The seller has 46 negative reviews over 12 months (out of 9000+) and most of the are either about scrappers or "bad quality" pins, whatever that means. I'm not sure what I should do, if anything. :( Some pictures:

personally, I suggest you contact the seller and tell them the pin is warped and you are unhappy with it. (I wouldn't mention breaking it until you "come to that bridge.") you should be protected under eBay's buyer protection if you file a claim (if it comes to that) stating that the pin was "not as described."

Did they have a picture of the actual item or a stock photo (usually from pinpics)? If they used a stock photo I would talk to the seller and tell them that the pin is not as described and go from there.

What did they advertise the pin as? In "New" condition? Were the pictures actual pictures of the pin or a stock photo?

Regardless you should definitely contact them with your concern. The worst they can say is that they won't give you a refund. And if they did truly misrepresent the item, then you can take a case up with ebay. Or best case they may simply offer to refund you right away after hearing your disappointment with the condition.

Also, I would steer away from anyone on ebay who has that many negative reviews, especially if the people are saying they are scrappers. I usually will only buy from people on ebay who have no negative reviews or only few negative reviews that did NOT relate to the pins authenticity (i.e shipping or communication issues).
