Hi! I was hoping that anyone who went to the May release could give me some insight. On the 18th, my brother wants to go down to DL for his bday, and try to get the navy diamond countdown pin. He can't drive so I have to take him and we live an hour away. I know they pass out the wristbands at 7am. I was wondering, do you absolutely have to line up by 6 to get a wristband before they run out? If you line up by 7 or 8am, is there still a decent chance of getting one, or will they be gone by then? We also plan to spend the day in the parks, so I'm trying to figure out how much sleep I should plan to lose. LOL

I tried in April. We got there at 5:40 and did not get a wristband. The people we spoke to who were able to purchase pins, were in line at midnight to around 3 am. It seems that every month brings more and more people. If you want one, you have to be there super early, and, because the parking lots will not be open, its probably best if you can find someone to drop you off.

Yikes!

I was in line by 4 am, the DTD parking lot opened around that time, but it's unpredictable each month. There's a ray of hope for some people, because we stayed for lunch, and noticed that the stand-by line was able to get some of the pins. Not sure how many were left but the lines were long at Katz and at LGM according to a CM. If you miss the wristband, than maybe try and stand in line for a 2nd chance after 1pm. March/April didnt have any unclaimed pins at Katz, so i was surprised there were leftovers, but maybe the rain?

Hope this helps and Good-luck! Happy Birthday to your brother be fun to celebrate at Disneyland!

Well, lining up at 3-4am is NOT gonna happen! (I need to sleep!) So we'll just take our chances and hope that some are available for standby after 1. Thanks for all the info everyone!
