I saw a keyblade pin on ebay at $9.99 last night (original price sold at hot topic in 2011)
in a few hours it got to $295 from one person
I noticed the other $10 pins go up to $200-$300 bucks on ebay and find this crazy from pin collectors and kingdom hearts collectors to pay

So I'm getting people to help out by requesting Hot Topic via their website to re-make these pins
its better to put its for the president

I don't know if I can post the link so mods if you don't want it you can remove it.

I love the idea, but I honestly do not see Hot Topic remaking these pins. However, if everyone sends them mail, I CAN see them making new pins which would be awesome.

The reason they would not is because these pins are not limited edition, when they came out years ago they were open edition, my local Hot Topic had about 30 of each pin and that was only 1 out of 6 stores by me, so that's 180 of this pin just in my area, thousands of each pin across the US. Reselling is part of any collector's hobby sadly, but the fact that so many were made and they all went to non-pin trader's hands make these difficult to get and I cannot see Hot Topic remaking them only because they already did a long time ago and I'd love if they made new ones instead focusing on the newer games since all of the pins were geared towards Kingdom Hearts 1.

They were released in 2011 , 5 years after kingdom hearts 2 came out which is surprising. That's why I think they can still remake them since they are still new . I just find it weird Kingdom hearts collectors pay so much for items like this :/ its gets worse when a new game comes out
Sad for us Pin collectors and disney when they sell stuff cheap and people take advantage and sell them for so much.

Well, although they did come out in 2011, that's still way too long ago for them to consider remaking them I would think. Different OE pins at the Disney parks come out every year, but you don't see Disney remaking those that came out years ago, even when those become ridiculously rare (some Little Mermaid pins that were OE back in the 1990's are some of the rarest LM pins out now).

Also, I don't think it's the Kingdom Hearts collectors who are really paying that much, it seems like it's the pin collectors lol I mean, the Kingdom Hearts collectors probably bought them years ago when they first came out (like I did), and for $200, most Kingdom Hearts fans would much rather buy nicer Kingdom Hearts merchandise, like 2 Play Arts figures (which are extremely high quality collector's figures that retail at $90, much cheaper and nicer than most pins in my opinion given I have them all  but I still love pins nonetheless ^_^).

Hopefully Hot Topic will pass on your requests to Disney if there's enough demand for a re-release. It might be seen as slightly unfair to the people who obtained their pins at the first release though!

Well, as you said earlier, it's been a few years and people probably do want to buy them. It's not really taking advantage when it comes to a legitimate auction, just supply and demand.

I honestly wish that I had gotten them when I had the chance. I have the large KH heartless button which I keep on my bag, and a few smaller ones of Sora, but that's about it. Hopefully with KHIII on the rise they'll do something similar.

I honestly do see more Kingdom Hearts merchandise being released in the near future, ESPECIALLY as KH3 gets close to release.

Disney has been releasing 1 pin for the past 3 years (4 if you include this year) starting in 2011 with the Sci-Fi Academy pin. So clearly Disney is happy with KH enough to keep 1 pin a year steadily, I expect possibly 2 or 3 (or maybe even a pin set?) for KH3, so we'll stay tuned and wait and see :D In the meantime, go preorder 2.5 to get the free pin for this year.
