Lack of trading at DLR?

Just curious if CM trading is slowing at DLR? Has anyone else noticed? I was at Disneyland today for 4 hours and only found one cast member trading pins. She was mobbed. By contrast in August you could find CM's every few feet that had pouches or lanyards. Maybe it's just because it's off-season?

I kind of think luck factors a lot, as well as peak vs. off peak days. Sometimes you find a lot and other days you won't see any. But I've been on some of the busiest days of the year and those are the days with lots of lanyards. Don't forget to go look at the hotels too!

The Holidays at DLR just officially ended Sunday, so there was probably a staff reduction along with new off peak hours. This probably reduced the amount of lanyards. The best times to look is on the parade routes about an hour before the parade. A lot of the guest control CM's are wearing them then. They also are tending to have more pin boards in stores as opposed to lanyards.

...as a matter of fact, now that you've mention it, I was there last Sunday (at DCA) and I didn't see any CM's with lanyards. I did think to myself it seem unusually. But, I chalked it up to the end of the holiday season, and that is was late afternoon, early evening. I look forward to the First Wave of Hidden Mickeys for 2013.

I agree. We were there both Sunday and Monday, and not a lot of CM's with lanyards. I went over to Westward Ho to see what they had on their pin board and was sad to find mostly scrappers
Any idea on when the 2013 HM's will make their debut?

The newer CMs like to wear lanyards more because many are introduced to pin trading during training. The older CMs tend not to wear them as often, but most of the merchandise ones will go grab one for you if you ask. In the off season the older CMs get more hours due to seniority.
