LE Pins?

I was taking a look at the upcoming pin releases for WDW (since I am going in February) and would love to buy one that comes out in January (the 17th; just a couple of days after my birthday). It is a LE of 2000 and I wasn't sure how long approximately these last for. I know the more popular the subject of the pin, the more quickly it would sell out. I am hoping this one will be available when I go down (on February 4).

For one of the LE pins I bought on my trip in February (Pin 88111), it was a LE of 1000 and I bought it around the beginning of February. Donald is much more popular than this other pin I am interested in (94211) so any ideas would be helpful :)

This pin is also going to be shared between WDW and DL (so I guess 1000 pins per park).

Typically from my understanding WDW gets more of the pins in a shared release like this Usually like 800 to 1200 or so. The pins your referencing is the Kaa pin I don't see that being a sellout really fast, even at DLR where I am. Not only is he not a major collector, Jungle book is not the biggest movie collection, and then there are the people who do not like writing on their pins. I can't speak for WDW but I think it should last long enough there as well. That's just my two cents, maybe someone else from WDW will respond as well.

Hopefully you are correct :) I love Kaa and have wanted him on a pin for a long time so I am happy they are releasing one. Hopefully it will be available when I go in February.

I absolutely love the passholder set that will be available (if only for The Little Mermaid pin because that one is so pretty) but my pass runs out just before my vacation and I'm not sure if I will be renewing or not.

I'm going to be doing a pickup at WDW that weekend for anyone who wants it at retail + shipping. I can also get you the annual passholder set as long as it is still available. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Edit: started a thread since I was already getting PMs from just this post :)

Funny I was just going to say that I could stop by DLR and pick one up since it is a multiple park release. That way you wouldn't have to worry about it being out when you got there. But since Aura already offered that's great. I would also be willing to offer the same thing for DLR releases. We are only about 20 minutes from the park.

I think you'll be fine for the Kaa pin :x:

I am thinking so too :)
I came across a pin trader at EPCOT on my recent trip in October/November who had a book full of pins I was interested in, including a Kaa pin, but I didn't have anything he wanted and he said he would trade me if I went and bought a Vinylmation ($14) for him. I told him I would think about it (never planned to) and that clued me in that something was off...

I did trade with a couple there though for a pin I wanted that turned out to be a scrapper (traded the DMR Rafiki that I had traded a CM for).

Oh well, I will be keeping a better eye out on my February trip (most of my pins I have purchased so it is really only the pins I have traded for that are scrappers (only a few)).

Kind of off-topic, but are there any places in WDW that people (like us) trade pins? I know EPCOT has a spot but that's where I got the scrapper from.

The Pin Trading Nights is probably the best bet but I've yet to make it to one yet. I've also yet to trade with the Epcot folks since they got rid of the tables when I was there last, but now I'm even more paranoid than I already was about "overpaying" for something when I do a trade with them after hearing your story.

As for a day-to-day thing, it's either Epcot or trying to find someone here who will be there the same time as you.

When I was there at the beginning of November, they had small round tables in front of the pin area (near the fountain) at EPCOT but they may not be there anymore. Yeah, I wasn't going to go out and buy something (especially when he gave the specific price) for a pin. He didn't even seem to know about some pins (like I had an original Tigger (pin 26) I got years and years ago I traded this trip) and he kept acting like I didn't know a lot about pins and how his were really special limited editions (I didn't have anything he wanted). He just seemed like kind of a jerk.

There are a few of those types in every hobby. Don't take it personal, and don't let it sour you to trading at the tables. Just know what your after, know the quality etc of your pins are. Politely smile and nod when "people" are idiots.
