Leaked pics might still be a couple weeks away. If you go wayyyyy back in this thread (like page 12 or so), Sergeant Calhoun leaked around this time last year, but Wreck It Ralph came out almost a month earlier than Frozen (Nov 2 vs Nov 27). I think we're just impatient because we expect all these dolls now. The movie's still a month and a half away. Hang in there
 
Hello everyone! I have a spare ursula 17 doll, rather than send her back to disney store I thought I'd check here first if anybody still needed her? Just asking retail (£60) plus shipping, also to cover any paypal fees etc she's in perfect condition, we just ended up with more than we needed in the panick of not getting them! Can send pics

I need them to make a Pocahontas doll. If they don't...well, I already have some sketches of a custom one I want to make. Thing is...I can't sew.
 
Considering 101 Dalmatians is coming out in February, should we be expecting some sort of Cruella deVille LE? I would begin saving now and she and Elsa would be good practice for my nephew whom he and I plan on scoring the LE Sleeping Beauty Swag next fall. And are inspired to begin saving cash for this next set of designer dolls. I await Pocahontas to be something great and to utilize that red shawl her singing doll had. I can imagine it already even though a good designer idea would be her outfit from the second movie based on Winter fashion(s). Anyways, I would love a 17" Cruella and plan on saving up now LOL.
 


I think you might have been misinformed, Jungle Book is coming out in Spring next year, 101 Dalmatians is not expected to be released until Spring 2015. Also whilst a LE Cruella De Vil would be amazing the chances of Disney releasing an LE based on the Spring diamond edition release would be slim. Usually they only release an LE based on movie releases for the spring release. The fall release is generally the bigger one with multiple dolls being released during dolls season.

Then again Cruella is a popular villain and so far apart from the Evil Queen all the other villains that they have released on the designer line they have also released a corresponding LE doll for them. So a Cruella would a possibility and I think would look amazing.
 
I know right. I dont want to buy anything Frozen right now. I need to see the movie first. LOL Although Ive seen all the trailers and it looks super cute. Plus the creators are creators of two of my fave films anyways.
 
So I have been looking on ebay to see if I can find a LE Eric in the 300s to match my Ursula and Ariel and so I messaged a few sellers on ebay asking if they could let me know what the number on the doll that they were selling was and one came back to me and rudely said "No because I don't open them!!"

Now I get that some people consider checking the COA opening the box however I dont believe that is the case because you can still keep the doll encased while checking the COA. I just thought it rude for them to respond in that manner as if what I had requested or asked was such a ridiculous and unreasonable thing to ask. Which personally I do not believe that it is. I guess it just makes me hate scalpers more, not only do they take opportunities for true collectors to purchase these dolls but some of them are just down right rude! You would think that they would try and be as nice as possible especially if they were trying to make a sale at ridiculous prices!
 

I'm sorry to hear about that rude response from that seller... At the core of everything, that person's service skills stink. He or she could have responded with the same basic message but put in a softer way, like: "I'm sorry, but I do not open the boxes even to check the CoA number, because I feel that it compromises the integrity of the item's unopened condition." Or something like that. Some people are certainly very literal when it comes to considering a box unopened or not.

I am in the same thinking as you that the LE dolls boxes are constructed to be able to open and reclose them without compromising the mint condition of the dolls or their value. I mean, as long as one does not damage the parts of the box or the doll within, no one would ever know if you had opened it or not before. Personally, I have opened all of my LE dolls' boxes to check their CoAs, resposition them, or fix their hair or clothing.

On the tangent of rude sellers, I had inquired about an item recently on amazon.com that was being sold by a third-party seller and they did answer my question, but they also bumped up the price to almost double because I had expressed interest. Obviously I did not make that purchase!

 

I def agree with you, the manner in which they responded is what really annoyed me. I probably wouldn't have minded as much if they were a collector as well but this person was clearly a seller as they had multiple items on sale and it looked like it was more of a business they were running. I just think the nerve of them to be rude especially since they are reselling an item and demanding so much more than retail and then acting like asking questions like the COA number is so unreasonable? I dunno it just baffles me.

Also I agree with your definition of mint. I believe it is still in a mint condition and new in box if you haven't removed the doll from the case and displayed it out of the box, if you opened it to check the COA or to fix something up then I consider that still new and in box. But that is just my opinion because like you said no one would even know that you opened it unless you told them that you did.

sorry to hear about your bad service fiasco on amazon as well, it really just makes me dislike scalpers more lol.

This really surprises me and makes me understand some sellers even less. You would think that they would go the extra mile to try and make the sale. Then for some to be so rude is ridiculous. I would understand if this was a sealed box that would compromise the condition, but no harm comes to opening the boxes of the 17" dolls. Some people have no etiquette and while I understand that not everyone on ebay is a professional seller/ business person etc, manners should be a common practice in all circumstances. I hope you find an Eric in the 300's, I I come across anything I will let you know
 

thank you! It is not that much of a big deal as I do have an Eric and it really is just the superficial reason of the number not being in the 300s with my Ariel and Ursula being in the 300s. So whilst it is not a big deal it would be awesome if I could get one within the same range as Ursula and Eric. I just don't want it to sound like I'm not happy with my Eric as I really am but finding one in the 300s would just be a bonus.

I am a strong believer in karma so all I have to say to that seller is what goes around comes around . I did contact them and said they can still check it without compromising the doll and also told them that they didn't have to be rude about it. Didn't receive a reply back haha.
 
Some sellers are just like that.......and usually when they are, I find, that they are scalpers. They don't know much about the item they are selling and they react that way because they were not able to flip the doll like they hoped.

I've only dealt with one seller who knew nothing about dolls and I had to file a claim against. My D23 Snow came to me with a broken plastic case. However, the seller had packaged it poorly and for some strange reason decided to only buy $50 worth of insurance...instead of the full amount of what I paid. Even though I paid enough shipping to cover the cost of full insurance. He pretty much told me, sorry that's too bad and that was it. I filed a claim and was able to get $140 back enough to buy a second regular snow white and exchange the case. But seriously, who ships a doll that someone paid $375 for and only gets $50 insurance? But those are scalpers for you...

I really don't mind scalpers but they need to have good customer service and just flat out common sense when selling.
 
Ohh, I know your happy with your Eric It would be nice to find a low Eric that would match with the other ones. It makes sense. I hope you are lucky. Hopefully someone will eventually respond with a nicer attitude.

@MountedArcherPrincess, I can't believe that they only added $50 insurance. Some of these sellers are really not smart. Sorry you went through that experience. What I don't understand is why ebay did not refund the entire amount if the item came damaged. That seems odd. At least you were able to get a new one.
 
I don't know, maybe I'm just different but I don't really care what number doll I have, as long as it's in good shape and displayed beautifully in my collection

Dont get me wrong I am more about the dolls being in a better quality than the actual number I receive but like I said the number is just a bonus for me, if I could get a doll with a lower number and is in a great condition I would rather go with that one that one that is a higher number and is also in a great condition. Especially for this little mermaid set because I already have two dolls in the 300s so it really is a shame that Eric is the only one in the series currently not in the 300s.
 
Yay my babies have arrived! Inlcuding my Designer Belle & Beast and D23 Snow White!





I'm a little bit delayed in contrast with you guys, becuase I'm from Mexico, so it takes longer for my items to arrive. But still, I'm really happy my 3 LE dolls and Designer sets serrived in perfect shape! Now I'll have to wait 2 more weeks to receive my Designer Ariel & Eric.

@Polaris: My LE Eric is #917. If it would have been in the 300s I could have traded it with you, but hopefully you will manage to find one. Best of luck .
 

Haha thanks Alex that's really kind of you to have considered me. Your dolls look amazing! I love seeing other people's collections. You might have mentioned this before but did you get the other designer fairytale sets? Or was it only Ariel and Belle that you wanted? Either way they all look amazing and I am glad you received your dolls in a great condition!

Wow that is awesome congrats on the low number . Ironically that the year I was born hehe, it would be so cool if I got a doll number 1986 that would be even better. Wish I had luck with low numbers I think if I keep collecting eventually I will land a low numbered doll haha which would be a bonus but until then I just want Disney to keep releasing LE's of more of the princesses and other Disney characters. As others have mentioned the Evil Queen, Cruella, Pocahontas, Mulan and Jasmine would be awesome.
 
What do you mean, you're looking for a second eric? I know two of the ones I have (a long story that ends with me trying unsuccessfully to sell the extras on at the same price I paid) are in the 300s. I think they're 305 & 310 or something crazy close like that. But I wouldn't be able to swap certs with you because the number on the doll's back wouldn't match. And I'm in canada so the cost of shipping would be insane to swap the entire doll.
