I'm anxiously awaiting the release tonight!! I just hope the site doesn't crash again like last time...makes me nervous since there is Anna and Elsa releasing and also a big vinylmation release also :-/
 

Personally myself I like both coronation dolls better than the other two...I wish on snow elsa they hadn't tinted her skin blue, she's not that way in the movie.
 
Not impressed with the lithos either... I really wanted something fresher. Those were some of the first official images of the film released, and the Anna/Elsa one isn't even strictly "movie accurate." Like others have said, one of just Elsa, maybe during the Let it Go sequence, would have been awesome. And one of the sisters together, even if it isn't the ending- maybe from the scene at the coronation party.
 
I'm also not impressed with the lithos. I'm pretty sure those are the stills they used to promo the movie before it released. I was also hoping for a nice still of Elsa, especially the one they used for the Academy Awards poster of her reacting to when Hans told her Anna had died towards the end of the movie. I'm hoping the links will still be posted here tonight since I don't have a facebook. I can't wait for the them! I've been seeing how fast it takes me to check out.
 

Here's what I do: Forget about eBay. Imagine you know nothing about them price wise. You walk into a Disney Store and see them for the first time. The clerk tells you they are $20 each. There is an even number of each doll left; nobody seems to care about them. You only have enough money to buy one doll. Now, which one will you choose? Bring yourself to a state of mind that doesn't care about what anybody else has paid/might pay for these dolls. Which one will YOU be the most excited to own?
 
I have been running errands all day and have less than 7 hrs of sleep in the last 2 days combined :coffee:
I think I am going to take a nap soon and set the alarm, I am so tired. However, I am super happy and excited and cannot wait to get these dolls ♥
 

I'd get snow Anna! And one day get Sq Elsa! In my mind they are the better 2 of the four and the most iconic! If I was going to get just one of each character then I would want the Most iconic outfits! And the snow queen elsa looks much more impressive than the coronation.
 
Hey everyone!

I haven't been on the site in ages due to being super busy around the holidays, and just on Tuesday I was thinking..."I haven't been keeping up with doll info lately, I wonder if anything is going on?" and sure enough I checked this thread and saw the new Anna and Elsa dolls! If I waited one more week I would have missed them! LOL

I am really liking the new dolls equally as much as the first two Anna and Elsa dolls. And even though Elsa's "snow queen" outfit and Anna's "snow gear" outfit are considered their more iconic ensembles...I honestly like their coronation dolls better. They are just gorgeous! I love Elsa's hairstyle and the cape is beautiful...and I also love that she is wearing her gloves. And I love Anna's fur-lined hood, pom-poms on her cape, and awesome boots! The ONLY things I am not crazy about with the new dolls are Anna's hair (I feel like it should have been slightly longer, or maybe thinner so it doesn't stick out too much), and the backgrounds of the boxes...I liked they more stylistic look of the previous dolls' boxes. But they really are beautiful!

I'm going to try and order the dolls online tonight, and if I'm not successful I will trek to my nearest store in the morning...good luck to everyone!


On another note...considering they released versions of the dolls in both of their outfits makes me wonder if this will become a new trend with the LE 17" dolls? For instance will the rumored upcoming Aurora be released in her gown AND in her Briar Rose dress?
 

I hope so!! I would also love if they released two different versions of her gown in pink and blue but I know that's a long shot.
 

I dunno. I do and don't like this duplicate doll release. I didn't go for either Rapunzel or Merida, but...OH MY GOD I WANT BOTH ELSA DOLLS. (But that's just me) While Elsa is my first non-Villain doll I've gone for, I just do not like the idea of needing/wanting to go through this craziness twice for one character. I feel so hypocritical saying how I don't like the idea of duplicate releases...but yet I am so crazy excited for this one. I dunno. It's totally a ploy from the company to get more money from us...AND IT'S WORKING!!

For Aurora, I wouldn't be shocked if they sold 5000 Aurora dolls, but split it up 2500/2500 like they did with the first Anna and Elsa releases because it still would technically be 5000 dolls. BUT! I really wouldn't even bat an eye if they did 5000 of both colored dresses. However, I would be kind of annoyed if they did the same facial expression, pose, and background for both. All I know is, I'm so super insanely excited for the Maleficent release...and if there isn't one...FURIOUS I WILL BE!

Thanks for posting this Shiva, been busy going through all the requests and trying to sort this out. As Shiva has mentioned there is a temporary hold on accepting members into the group as the response has been overwhelming. Something in me thinks we'll just be getting a pink Aurora. In retrospect, looking at all the dolls, there has been not single one in pink yet! We have so many in blue so far (Alice, Cinderella, Elsa, Snow Gear Anna with some pink/magenta, Merida from the two-set, Coronation Elsa is teal-ish) a couple in yellow (Snow, Belle) and several in green (Coronation Anna, Tiana, Ariel, Elinor from the two set) and of course, one purple (Rapunzel), but no pink! The more I think about it, the more I believe we'll be getting a pink Aurora, since that is really what she is hardcore merchandised as.

I don't think they would do two versions of her, I think the only real reason they have two Elsa's, Anna's, Merida's, and Rapunzel's is because they had an excuse to with both the theater release and the DVD home release. Tiana might have been included, but she was made much earlier than when they all became popular. I think we can almost guarantee a Maleficent and hopefully a Phillip, but you never know with Disney! I also feel like Aurora is saddly much less popular than other characters of the diamond editions. I thought for sure we'd get two Ariel dolls since she is so popular and easily has different outfits (let alone different forms) to chose from, but alas we did not.

I don't know, that is just my two cents on the matter!
 
I think they will do 2 versions of Aurora with the blue dress being very limited in number. Just my hunch. I just hope it is not Harrods only with a high price tag.

As for the whole Aurora speculation, I think that if they decide to do 2 Aurora dolls it will not be what most are hoping for, which is one in blue and the other in pink, that would cause most people to go for the blue one since it is very rare. I would like to believe that if they did 2 17" Aurora's one will be in her traditional gown in one of the 2 colors or a mesh of both and the other in her peasant dress. If I had to guess, I would say they will do the 17" in her ball gown dress and the Fairytale collection designer one in the peasant dress. I doubt they will put Aurora in the same dress for both lines, but Disney is full of surprises. I guess we have to wait and see.
 

I agree with you on this, I definitely seeing Aurora in Pink for her LE doll, if we got a Cinderella in blue instead of the white dress she wore to the ball (also one that was based on her new look unless her classic one) then I definitely see Aurora in Pink. I highly doubt they will do two Auroras because of the same logic that you stated in that if they didn't do Ariel in two versions then it is very unlikely Aurora will get two. Mainly because Ariel is by far more popular than Aurora and on top of that she has both a human and mermaid for, so out of all the dolls she would be a forerunner in getting two dolls.

If they do the Designer DFDC part 2 then I think that is where we will be seeing Aurora in a secondary outfit similar to Ariel last year. The way I see it, if Disney were to follow previous releases Aurora will be this years Ariel i.e she will have the LE doll and also a DFDC doll of her in her peasant dress with Philip just like Ariel had her day wear with Eric.

I agree with you as well in relation to why Rapunzel, Merida, Anna and Elsa got two dolls each. It really was because of the popularity of these dolls increasing and Disney having a reason to release these. Tiana was released way back in 2010 and does not have much in terms of costume change throughout the movie as she appears as a frog in most of it so i can understand why she only had the one doll.
 
Heading to bed soon. Just wanted to wish everyone luck with the pre-order tonight! My boyfriend has very sweetly offered to handle the pre-order tonight so I can get some sleep before my early day at work. I am very spoiled.

I'll definitely check in when I get up a few hours after the release. I'm looking forward to reading all the hype posts as I'm getting ready for work. I'm sad to be missing it, but I am a terrible sleeper and really can't afford to be loopy all day tomorrow.
