Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I think if they came out with an LE Kristoff I would buy him...I love his costume so i can only imagine how awesome they could make him look....I wonder if they'll ever do a tinkerbell doll, i bet they could make her wings look really cool.

That reminds me of the Classic set of the three fairies. I saw it when looking at someone's collection on Flickr. I didn't even realize until then that they made a DS box set of the three fairies. It is adorable.
I have the three fairies. I got them second hand though, so they were deboxed. But Im happy I have them.

Ha! With this release...it makes more sense to me for it to be:
Aurora 3000
Phillip 1500
Maleficent 5000

I do hope they make an even larger edition size for Maleficent though. They upped the Ursula size because of her being a part of The Little Mermaid, but with Maleficent being one of the most, if not THE MOST, popular villains, I hope they take that in to account and up the edition size. I wonder how they will do her horns and robe. I really really REALLY hope that it is as movie accurate as possible and aren't...sleeves...or worse...a cape.
Is it October yet? GAH I AM SO EXCITED!!!! <3

I am so frustrated. Even though I didn't plan on it, I really wanted one of the Elsa LE dolls. Desperately wanted the Snow Queen version. So much was happening, I messed up the dates in my mind and missed out on that entirely. Fast forward to the Coronation Elsa, and I was happy for a split second that I would have another chance. But my life has been a mess (my grandmother passed away around Christmas; it was unexpected) and my mind got stuck on the totally random and wrong date of January 23rd for some batty reason, and I missed out again. I happened to be at my store Friday night for an unrelated reason, saw the Anna for sale, and my heart just sank. Came home and checked online and naturally they were gone there too.

So, I thought I would just settle for the Disney Store Classic doll, but it is sold out at my store and has been since late October. They claim they won't get more. Still gone on the website. So I figured I would get the singing doll-- Also gone. Hey, the cheap doll sold at Target, Toys R Us, etc.-- gone everywhere.

I am so depressed. I'm really grateful I had such luck with the Mermaid 17" trio from earlier in the fall, and the Designer collection. But to miss out repeatedly on Elsa is just making me feel even worse. I really enjoyed the movie and all of the characters (saw it today finally), but I don't relate to extrovert, effervescent Anna at all. Especially right now. Naturally I found multiple types of dolls of her everywhere. I am more like Elsa in personality.

Maybe some day they'll put out a third LE Elsa.

Just a heads up: Due to being able to pick up both dolls is store after all (huzzah!) I just successfully cancelled my online order of Coronation Elsa and Snow Anna. I don't know if or when they'd pop back up on the site, but I just thought I'd say that there is one more of each back in the system.

ah i'm sorry!!
maybe you can consider the toddler/animator collection elsa doll to tide you over till everything is back in stock?
if you want, i can give you my classic elsa, though she's been deboxed and i boiled her hair cause the one i bought had REALLY unruly spikes.
i'll need the shipping charges though

as much as i want them, i dunno how plausible a 3rd LE elsa and anna wave are, just because the girls are out of outfits.

Lol maybe we'll get Anna in her nightgown with messy hair in her mouth like in the beginning of the movie.

hahaha!!!
omg can i just rant for a second though?
anna gets another dress at the end of the film, it's kind of greenish gray if memory serves.
so how come elsa doesn't get a new dress either? to me her coronation outfit represents fear and repression and her snow queen outfit represents her being free but also being alone. it would have been nice for her to have a look that represents her being herself while also being part of society.
but no.
(also if she had another outfit there might have been another set of LEs! disney! why! why you no do this!!?)

I think Classic Elsa will come back in stock. Also given the popularity of frozen it's highly likely Elsa will be put into the princess line and then she'll be easier to get. I don't see the classic doll being hard to try eventually. It's just right now that items are hard to get because disney didn't anticipate the high demand.

While LE 2500 Elsa will likely remain at grail prices due to small edition size, I think LE 5000 Elsa won't reach grail prices at all, so you might be able to pick her up in the secondary market.

When tangled came out, there was a similar frenzy for items. I remember trying to get plush Pascal; it was crazy! But eventually once things died down, my disneystore was flooded with them. I think frozen will be the same.

I agree it would of been nice to see her in a more casual dress like Anna had in the end. Her others were more formal.

For quite a while now I could not stop thinking about a 17" LE Aurora. I think she's already my favorite LE Doll. Even though I haven't even seen her yet. LOL.

Is anyone worried, like me, that they are starting to get so many princesses that they may start retiring some of them? Like how American Girl has retired most of their older characters.

Oh my gosh.
OH MY GOD.

They better not ever do that. Ever. I love the first few Disney Princesses A LOT! And I'm sure many other people do too.

I don't think they would do that, though. (Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself.) I'm sure if they did, God forbid, lots of people would be complaining and they would just have to bring the Princess (or Princesses) back. I can imagine angry mobs.

OnceUponADream - I saw someone on the DPF Disney Limited Edition Collectors Facebook page saying they have an extra Coronation Elsa and Snow Gear Anna, and are only asking for how much the doll came to, and shipping. You can contact Polaris about joining the group (if you haven't already).

I did the same thing

I LOVE 18-year old Elsa in the blue outfit when she does a little curtsy, and looks up at her parents with a pleading face and says "Do you have to go?":

That is so very sweet of you. I am truly touched. If it's right that they will make more of the Classic dolls, I guess I will wait it out. If not, I will give you a holler. I am not a toddler/animator's collection fan at all really, though I do love the Belle and Rapunzel dolls. The others are just not my style. One of my preschool aged family members adores them though!

Thank you so much! I didn't even know there was a Facebook group for this site. I am mostly here for doll discussion. I collect pins, but generally only when I am in WDW. I don't usually buy them or trade them or keep up with releases when I'm back home.

coraline-- thank you for the advice and encouragement also. When I looked at eBay prices, even for the new doll, I was stunned (and not in a good way). I am not a trader either, so I don't have duplicates stored up for such a situation. My mom has offered her Designer Maleficent to me if I ever needed her, but I can't take her doll from her. I hope they do restock the classic dolls. Wouldn't be the first time my store didn't know what they were talking about, sadly.

Hi, I am new the the LE doll game. Apart from the new frozen ones in March are there any others due out this year? Thanks and love the forum!

Nothing confirmed yet however it is expected that we will be getting Aurora for preorder around the end of July/early August expected to be released around Sep 30. Also they usually do a surprise release of the villain and since this is also Maleficent's year I am pretty confident that we will be getting a Maleficent doll this year as well.

So you can definitely guarantee that we will be getting at the very least 7 different LE dolls during the second half of the year, made up of a LE Aurora and a LE Maleficent and then the designer line which will at the very least have a minimum of 5 dolls.

Oh darn, I do hope it won't be around September 30! Just booked a trip to Thailand from September 20 till October 4. Hope I can fix something, I want Aurora so bad!

It has always been around this time, last year it was Oct 1 (Ariel) and the year before that Oct 2 (Cinderella) so if they are going off the same time frame the Tuesday for that week will be Sep 30 unless of course they want to keep the release around October which means that it will be Oct 7, the first Tuesday of the month of October.

Thanks for the info! I'll probably figure something out!

Has anyone in the uk tried to use their 10 pound vouchers from the first frozen doll release? The website won't seem to let me stack them together to use both in one order. Was anyone successful?

Great, are the designer dolls better than the LE 17" ones? Are they more valuable/collectible?
The LE dolls are more valuable than the Designer dolls I think. Not only do they look a lot better and are more detailed generally they are lower numbered and end up more expensive on the secondary market. The majority of the designers are not that expensive apart Ariel on the secondary market.
