I don't really understand the wrist band numbering

I don't really understand the wrist band numbering vs amount of people since I've never been to a release there. What does 1000, 1200 or 1900 mean for people lined up? Do they pass out more wrist bands than there are pins? I'm sure this has been asked before and my apologies if this question causes debate, not my intention. I am simply curious about how this process works. Also good luck to everyone!
Correct count...

I'm excited, my peep got two good numbers including surprise release and a 3rd marquee. So I'm trading my Rapunzel pins. Kierstyn loves Frozen more and so do I. We will always love Rapunzel.

1945 people made the cut off to get a wristband. Then the line moves forward with each person getting a randomized voucher between 1 and 1945. That number correlates to your spot in the line to actually get pins.

Because we really needed another low le surprise elsa pin that looks almost the same as the one coming out next month.

ANYWAYS THOUGH: I hope all the collectors and traders out there got good numbers! Wishing you the best!

I woke up at 7:15 this morning, so I didn't make it down to DSF. Oh well, at least I don't collect Frozen, and I probably would have had to leave before pin sales started anyway since they started selling so late.

Congrats to those who got good numbers, and geezy creezy that surprise pin! Though I wish they did what they did with the Jack pun pin and sell it to voucher numbers 751 and up, so at least those people would get something.

With that many people there i would hope that the PTD flips so that those that don't get anything from release will end up with something.

Well the PTDs potentionally could flip three times or at a minimum twice if EVERYONE got one...

(if they stay with the 2 500's + 2 300's a maximum of 1000 people need to get PTD's to flip them, so they could flip the set now for the next set and flip the next set by the end of the day.)
