Hi,
Don't give up hope too soon, because I have had pins turn up as long as a month after they were sent. The post office is like entering the Twilight Zone for me. My old mail carrier retired, and for the last 5 months, I have a new one, who leaves all my pin packages with different neighbors, even when they have DC. So the person who sends me the pin thinks I got the pin, when in reality, it was delivered to my neighbor. I have been very lucky in that my neighbors are honest and bring it over. By the way, the same thing happens in reverse, meaning I get their mail and have to take it to them. We have gone to the post office to complain at least 8 times and it keeps on happening.
The latest package was sent to me from Paris and it was sent registered mail, so I was supposed to sign for it. You would think that would be safe, right? Well, the infamous mail carrier delivered it to a lady that had not moved in yet, so it sat in her mail box for over a week. In the meantime, I see the package as being delivered, and wonder how this could be when I did not sign for it. Can you guess the outcome? My mail carrier delivered it to her, for another one of his mistakes is not paying attention to what kind of service they are supposed to be providing. He just stuck it in her mail box with no signature. Finally, this new neighbor brought it over, so I got my pin, and then explained it all to the person who sent it. We took the envelope to the post office, showed the supervisor, and he apologized once again, but our mail carrier continues do to as he pleases, simply because he is getting away with being sloppy.
In a case like mine DC would not have even helped, although I highly recommend it. I hope your envelope just got derailed and gets to your boyfriend soon though.
