I'm so excited! Over a Cast Lanyard pin! This one to be exact
My anniversary is the 4th of July, and my husband's favorite Disney character is Pluto, so I've wanted it since it was released. I was able to get 4 of the 6 USA pins during the original release, but no Pluto. And then the market got flooded with counterfeits so trading or buying would be difficult. I found an authentic Daisy at Theme Park Connection over Christmas (you can tell by the difference in gold coloring on the back). And I did pick up, off a lanyard, a fake version of Pluto so I knew what it looked like and could compare. Then Bruce (disneyboysmousehouse) started posting his early 2000's pins for sale, and I figured I would take a chance. My pins came today and Pluto is authentic! I literally jumped up and down in the kitchen. While I've gotten a lot of great pins lately, this one just tugs at my heart a little bit more.
For anyone playing at home, aside from the colors being wrong, the lighter gold back, and major paint dips, the counterfeiters made it easy for us on this one, in that the Disney copyright/made in China box is 2mm wider on the counterfeit. Authentic is 6mm wide, counterfeit is 8mm.
