My pin Collection
I finally got most of my pins loaded into pinpics. It's taken many months. There are still a few pins that I can't locate in pin pics, but I know they are real pins. They might be part of a set or whatever. I also found that I had some duplicate Tinks. I never realized we had that many pins in our house. My son gave me his entire collection to sell for him since he got an internship and needs the money to pay for his expenses. But I'm still trying to sort out where to start. Also, I added some to my collection. I still have about 200 to 300 left to enter into pinpics.
When I started pin collecting in the 90s, I never dreamed my collection would get so big. I am going to take a picture of each page. I have so many Tinks, I forgot which ones I already had and traded or bought a second one and put it in another book. I traded a Toy Story PODM for a gold cast Tink, thinking it was a different one than what I owned and discovered I already got that pin years ago. My daughter decided to add her pins to mine and we found we had several more duplicates. Some of the duplicates were bought many years ago, when we used to buy 5 sets of pins to use a traders and I never got around to trading all of them and forgot I still had them in my books. I think this qualifies me as an obsessive pin collector.
I've collected some pins for so many years, that I could correct the pin pics. One set was actually purchased as a tie tack set. I still have the original tie tacks and straight pin on the back of the pins. I think that was one of the first pins I purchased. After reading several of your post, I'm glad to find out I'm not the only pin hoarder out there.
I've been having a lot of fun going through everything. But my son gave me a reality check. Yesterday he told me he got a rather large ticket his first day in Florida. The cop didn't care that it was his first day driving on the roads. Its a little different in CA, passing a cop parked on the side of the road with their lights flashing. So he spent most of his living expense money on a ticket and driving class. When you are a young 20 year old with an out of state plate, they will throw the book at you. My son was also amazed that the cop accused him of something that he didn't do, but he said there was nothing he could do. Oh, well, such is life.
