Hey everyone!
I have a few questions with regards to scrappers and fakes!!

How can you tell the difference between scrappers and real?
Are the backs of scrapper pins different ie. I have many pins that have different designs on the backs of the pins. Lots of mickey heads, or some writing, how can i tell???

BIT OF BACKGROUND INFO
I have been collecting pins since 1999, and have a very large collection. I TEND to only buy pins, I'm not really a trader. However recently i have started "trading" or buying on Facebook.

I do believe that in my collection i have only 1 identifiable scrapper.
- Jungle Cruise, fast pass pin. Only can tell its a scrapper due to wonky writing on back of pin, actual pin point off centre, front of pin colours faded. -

Honest answer here, do you think as a buyer i am generally safe from scrappers??

I will let someone else elaborate but for myself I look for 2 things. I first check Pinpics and see if there is anything on there. The second thing would be taking a look at the back

The easiest way to tell a scrapper is from the mickey stamp on the back. The mickey heads should look like they never end. The scrappers will have a border around them.

Here is a pic of what a typical scrapper pin back looks like

You can see how the mickey ears do not look endless. They have a stopping point on them.

The scrapper pins sometimes will have dips in the paint and the colors will be off ( faded or the wrong shade)

what happens if a pin does not have mickey heads on the back?
I have quite a few like that.....even ones bought and sealed in bags

Also, to be fair, I got a pin directly off the rack that had the border. I looked at others, they all had one. So Disney has changed something recently with the newer pins and have made it harder on us traders.
