I was wondering if you all could help me with something (i apologize if this is in the wrong area), I just made my first online trade a week ago (through pinpics) their package was delivered today to them (have the tracking conformation, and the USPS had "misplaced" the package for two days), they have not responded back to me since the day i emailed them their tracking information last monday, nor responded back to me on any messages i have left on the pinpics site. I did my homework and checked dizpins ref page, and they have over 100-200 positive trade reviews, i was wondering should i wait longer, or how should i go about handling this? Just sucks the first trade i make, i do my homework on the person, and i feel like i have been burned. thanks

If it's only been a week, I'd give it some more time. I always let the other trader know that I've received the pin, but I've found that some people just don't respond further once they've agreed to trade. Patience is key

ok thanks, i think i have been excited for my first trade like this, but the whole no communication thing has put a damper on it for me so far

I agree with GreyWyvern, just give it a little more time. Some people just aren't communicators. I think the fact that they have so many positive reviews probably works in your favor. I wouldn't think someone would just decide to start scamming people after honestly trading for such a long time.

Do they live in the USA?I have had pins from Paris take as long as a month to arrive.Sometimes traders wait till they get your pin before they send you theirs.

you're probably fine. if you feel like PMing a name I might be able to shed some light - I know a lot of pin traders.

I still think frequent communication is SO IMPORTANT in making trades- letting people know when you have mailed, & giving them the tracking info ( I ALWAYS use tracking in the USA, & send the info to receiver when I mail.

My first suspicion is that if this was your first pin trade, the trader is doing something we call "holding the pin hostage." Which means they were waiting to send your pin until AFTER they had received the pin from you. It's not uncommon for people to ask newbie traders to send first to weed out scammers, but the key point is that they disclose that information up front.

Thanks everyone for your advice...

So i subscribed to the tracking updates on my email, and i have received two emails today saying "No Authorized Recipient Available" ive sent out certified mail before and have never needed a signature for delivery, is this what the Authorized Recipient means?
