I got this pin via trade today

Pin 36545: Disney Auctions (P.I.N.S.) - Stitch as Cheshire Cat

I knew the pin was coming minus card, etc, but was all right with that since it had no reports of fakes that I could find, and it is a hard to find pin

When I was going over the pin (and I apologize, my camera would not focus enough on it), I noticed a slight chip on the side of the pin, right by the where the tree that Stitch/Cheshire is sitting on is closest to the edge of the pin, and when I mean side, I mean the edge of the pin, not the front of the pin. I do not know if chip is the right word. It is like the outer layer wore/peeled off a little, and you get the next layer, kind of like an onion, LOL. If anyone can explain it better, I am open for help. I took 2 pictures (1 with flash, one without) and while you can not see the actual edge chipped/missing, you can see where by the color difference/shade difference.

My question is, this was going to be a trader. Is this a concern, as it does not take away from the pin, as the front of the pin is fine. This is the edge so how differently is that looked at?

Thx for the help

Honestly, I can only speak for myself here, but as someone who has this pin on their wants I have to say yeah it does kinda effect the attractiveness of the pin. But some people may not care. I guess it just depends but my thinking on it is A)With pins we're all kinda drawn to the ones that catch our eye and when faced with one with a chip and one without, I'd choose the one without and B)We never really know if/when a pin that we thought would stay in our collection would get traded or sold away and in either case, the issue of condition is going to come up again so it's kinda like something that will always come up and be a factor. On the flip side, someone else may not care since it's on the edge and they may see it as a way to get a great pin cheaper...but there again, you as the trader/seller would be taking a hit based upon the condition of the pin.

Personally I would be like "ewww imperfection!" lol (But I already have it tho yay!)

But there are a lot of traders out there that want the pin so much and have been searching forever that they'd overlook it, as long as you mentioned it of course. Since it's not directly on the design it wouldn't interfere with displaying it.
