Hi all!

I am verrrrrry new to pin trading! And am looking for gear to start up.... I've seen in alot of videos that people have pin trading binders. Any idea who sells theses?

For official pin trading books, the online auction site, or the sale boards here on DPF.

the online auction site also has some fan made and plain pin binders or olympic ones as well.

we use zippered 3 ring binders with pages made from heavy craft felt from Joann fabrics, I cut the pages to 10 by 10, folded to make them 8 by 10, stitched the fold line then punched holes in them with a paper punch through the folded section , it keeps it from tearing out,, then just put pins on every other page so they do not scratch.,

but I warn against many sales there as the pins are frequently fakes, or counterfeit.

However have not seen fake pinbags.

here is a picture of an early pinbook,,, using heavy craft felt in a 6 inch by 5 inch 2 ring binder,,, it has held up for 8 years and we just have the 2002 pins in it. I did not even stitch the pages on it, but for the bigger heavier pages I would suggest that.

1) Disney sells two verions of pin "books" or bags for use. In the standard version, they now use a neoprene style page that has about an 8 x 10 surface area for pins. Sealed at the edges, new pins are more difficult to secure in place. The pages are also more difficult to penetrate than the felt pages used in older books. Disney also sells a 3 ring binder style that has comes with 5 pages of "felt covered backer board", an 8 x 11 version of the original pin cards. Both styles come with plastic page seperaters to protect pins from scratching.

2) You can purchase "independent" pin binders from Olympic and Little league pin collector pages. While they do work, they tend to be less rugged than most of the Disney Offerings. Hard Rock Cafe also offers pin binders that are similiar to Disney pin binders. The Guitar shaped case while nice, does have a high amount of "negative / unusued" space.

3) You can make your own pages / binders by using a 5 inch D- ring or Catalog post style binder, heavy felt or craft foam pages, and multipage, page holders. You just cut the foam, or fold the felt to the appropriate size. Use a backer / stiffener for the foam - I recommend a good heavy duty card paper or just multiple pages of normal paper.

Finally, there are are the good old fashioned cork boards.
