Not another Fantasy Pin thread! (COUNTERFEIT ARIEL DESIGNER)
The photo of 3 has the "counterfeit", the single photo has the real pin.

The "fan-made" pin is certainly incredibly similar to the real one (they are OBVIOUSLY using the real artwork to make the fake pin), and sadly I think I like the fake one more than the real one.

I do wonder, though, is it a counterfeit pin if they aren't trying to pass it off as the real one? It seems like they made it different on purpose, so in my mind I would call this a "fake" or "fantasy" or "fan-made" pin, but I'm not sure I'd classify it as "counterfeit".

I know, it's all semantics, but I don't see this as any more egregious than taking a stock photo from a movie and turning it into a pin. Either way, you've taken artwork made by someone else at Disney and using it for your own purposes.

yup. They both suck. And both are very egregious. Fake is fake. Only one way to get "REAL" pins. That's from Disney. Any thing else you come up with or any other name and story will not change the fact that all other pins are flat out FAKE.

Part of the big problem is, people want to make it ok sometimes or in some way. The real problem is not only the fake makers..... But there is a big big problem with the pin community.

Real easy to understand. If no one wanted all the different kind of "Fake" pins.... Guess what... No one would make them.
