I was recently going through my pins and found something odd in my WDW - 2010 Hidden Mickey Series. I have the 5 pin series showing different "pieces" of Figment and on the back they are marked "1 of 5", etc. BUT........ the 4th pin in the series (pin # 75148) has "4 of 6"

Anyone else notice this or have a possible explanation?????

Thanks

Check out the comments on PinPics for that pin. "Might" be a scrapper, check out the color notes in the description on PinPics and see if your pin matches up. I have found that often when the "X of X" series goes wacky that often the pin in question is a scrapper - I have been there also.

Thanks, Mike. I checked again on PinPics and still not sure. It describes the tongue on the scrapper being bright orange and mine definitely is not. But, it also says the scrapper background is pink and if you look at mine in a certain way it might be considered pink. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't really matter. What's even more odd is though not 100 % sure, I would think I would have bought these as a group at DisneyWorld? Figment is still cool!!! It'

For #75148 specifically, I know there have been multiple counterfeit releases. There are at least three or four different colour variations so you can't just go by what PinPics is saying.

My own pin says "Hidden Mickey / 4 of 5". In this case to spot fakes, the best places to look are the eyes, tongue, background and the Mickey head icon. Any colours that are obviously off, or a Mickey icon that's distinctly misshapen, is an indication of a fake. The eyes should be yellow, not greenish. The tongue should be pink, and obviously lighter than the background, which should be a very deep pink, almost purple.

Some fake releases of this pin have the tongue pink, and the background a very similar shade of pink, while on others the background is a very dark purple. If you have the "Two Tiny Wings" (#75145) and/or "Horns of a Steer" (#75147) pins from the same Hidden Mickey set, the background of the heart should be the same, or very similar to the backgrounds on both those pins.

Hope that helps!

I'm thinking it's likely a fake at this point. Not really a big deal. Wish I could remember how I came upon these since I have all the pins in the series and I can't imagine I traded for all of them. Still like the series! Thanks for all the comments, really appreciate it!
