I was looking through my pin books for a pin that I had a Trade going for and I started to look at my OLD DA pins from many years ago. It is amazing how quickly we forget about something as time goes on.

The DA pins are big, detailed, and many have amazing designs. I actually took over an hour looking at some of the pins that I haven't really looked at in years. Makes you wish that the design concepts and quality can be returned to hobby.

I totally have to agree! The DA pins are absolutely breathtaking. And Disney hasn't come anywhere near the quality and originality of those pins in recent years. The true pity is that fewer and fewer of them (especially the DA 100's) are available for trade or sale, so many newer traders may never get these truly special pins.

Yep..great designs...but in the beginning the WORST shipping you ever saw! Pins thrown loose into a box, no wrapper, no bubble -sometimes just some crunched thick paper. Not to mention, it was the most expensive shipping you ever saw! No combining...everything was overnight starting at $9.95. You would find this DHL box on your porch..and if it rattled -you knew it was Disney Auctions mail.

After thousands of complaints, they finally started using card backings, and finally a year later -bubble protection. Then, if you got a bad pin -there was no such thing as a replacement. You either kept the bad one, or returned it for your money back. Which is also why you run into lots of flawed DA pins - as your choice was to keep the flawed one; or perhaps never see it again.

Yes, we miss them now...but didja know that DA was so bad...that they hid their feedback in the end? Never confirmed this -but it was always often said that DA lost its place with Ebay, because DA didn't meet Ebay's standards for sales.

No dispute on the quality of designs though...just getting the finished product had the issues. ;-P

Oh, the memories....

Can anyone post some pictures or a link to a list of some of the pins you all are talking about? I am one of those 'sad' new traders and have no idea what pins you are talking about XD

If you go to Pinpics, Search, and click the box that says Disney Auctions, then just leave the search box empty and hit enter. You get about 3,900 DA pins for your pleasure.
