:anxious: How do I know the person i am trading with is an honest trader? Is there a forum post that details the dos/donts of online trading? Thanks for your help.

Sorry I don't have the answer to your question but I also wanted to ask something on the same topic:
If you arranged a trade through pinpics can you still leave feedback for the person who is also on DPF?
I was going to leave feedback but then wondered if the trade that you were leaving feedback for had to be arranged and dealt with on Disney Pin Forum.

One thing we do with possible pinpics trades is see whether or not they are here on DPF. That can always help and maybe send them a PM to familarise yourself with them. Another thing is message them a few times, if they are an honest trading I don't think they would mind if you asked if they have done many trades before and such questions. Obviously do not accuse them to being a fraud though.
I can't find a post about help with pinpics at the moment but if I do I will try and point you in the right direction. Alot of it is trusting the other user just as they have to trust you too. If you do have any further concerns feel free to PM me as well I will try and help as much as possible
 

I think it would be best practice to leave feedback whether you traded through DPF or PinPics. It is always nice to know that the person is happy with your trade and that it can help improve your rating for other to see
 
Yes, Dizpins is a good place to start to check email references, but as Holly pointed out, asking if theyre a member of the forum is also a good idea, and sometimes can make contacting them a bit easier as you can pm them on dpf! Also, you can see if they have any feedback of DPF fr trading too. Hope this helps, and good luck!
 
When I started and didn't have any references, I would send out my pin first and then have the trader send their pin once they had got mine. The risk was on me, but I made sure the other traders had plenty of references. Many times they were already on DPF and you could see that they were active members in the pin trading community.

Now when I come across a new trader without references, I offer the same option. I give my references to show that I can be trusted and let them make the decision on whether they are comfortable to make the trade that way. This has worked out really well so far for me. I've only had one trade that hasn't ever sent pin and that was before I started doing this. Hope that helps.
 
I always leave refs on Dizpins and if they are a member here I do as well,especially if they are new to DPF..I just put"Trade through Pinpics was great"you can trust them here on DPF too"

I always do that and if they are NOT a member I invite them here after I check their refs,and if they traded with a member here,I advise them to ask those members to leave refs for them here too
That really helps alot!

Haha, may be your wisdom has been rubbing off on other members. That's exactly how I found out about DPF was through my first trade with Lostinwonderland. She was very kind to take a chance on trading with me and really helped me through the whole process.
 
Thank you to everyone for the tips. Very helpful information. I've only been collecting/trading for a few months now and I am VERY impressed by the level of kindness, friendliness, and support shown by the members of the DPF community.
