This is making me really want to go, even though I should not be spending that much money for an event right now...

Sorry you didn’t get on the villain trail. It sounds like a lot of people liked that. Also sounded like the line moved quickly but didn’t seem to for you. Maybe it was a slow night for some reason? Would definitely like to hear from people who go other nights on their experience to see if it’s usually fast or slow.

Thanks for your post! It was a lot of fun to read and very helpful as I plan my trip.

    Seemed so much FUN!

Mom n I enjoyed seeing the party get started as we left.:p

If the party starts at 6, party goers can enter as early as 3. Seems the experienced ones start getting in line early, so that at 6 they're in and out quicker? As we passed Villains Grove people were waiting in line, but wasnt open yet, CM advised it doesn't open till it gets dark, and regardless of line, it's worth seeing. By Halloween it shouldn't be as long a wait for darkness to set in.
Have A Great Time, whoever gets to go! It's been advised all tickets sold out last week.

My sister and I were leaving CA Adv. yesterday afternoon and realized it was prime time to people watch because of the party! (One of our favorite things is seeing people dressed up, be it Halloween, Dapper Days, or just Disneybounding!) So we parked ourselves on the fountain bench, listened to the band (forget the name), and watched to our hearts' content. So much creativity!!!! (Also got to see two ladies as Kim Possible and Shego! Can I tell you how much I appreciate people who are super polite about me wanting to take their picture??) :D

Ok buckle up boys and ghouls! It's time for Omi's visit to Oogie Boogie Bash!
Firstly, my thanks goes to my friend Mike, who is the one who offered me his ticket to go because he couldn't, and did not ask for anything in return other than I experience it to the fullest! He's not on the forum, but the thanks are still in order. I let him pick my costume for the evening, and so he chose my Nick Wilde Disney Bound. A fantastic choice, because it was comfortable, and not too hot!

So thanks to Krand's report, I kind of had a game plan in mind for the evening, and the info guide a friend posted with all the photo ops and show times. My main goal for the night was to meet Don Karnage of Tale Spin fame, so I made that my first goal of the night.
I was already at the park, & changed into my outfit around 5pm. I got in line where the Disney Afternoon characters were due to meet at about 5:55. There were not many people in line at all, but we learned Chip and Dale would actually be first up!
I asked the attendant, and he said if I got back in line, by the time I made my way through again, they'd be swapping out, so I did just that, and YEP, when I was about 4 people back again, it swapped to Baloo and Don Karnage!
I buttered up ol' Donny by telling him what an honor it was to meet such a cunning, masterful, handsome, ace pilot, the captain of the skies! Don't worry, Baloo's feelings weren't too hurt!

Taking Krand's report in mind, I then turned and headed into the Grizzly River area. I came upon the first treat trail, which Maleficent was inside. The party wasn't too busy, so I was able to stop and watch her for a bit. She did not interact with the crowd, just kept reciting lines from her film, but it was still very cool.
The line for that dang Villains Grove was already all the way to the plane where Pluto meets during the day (which is where the treat trail with Mali lets out), and so I was like nope. I continued on, and did the treat trail behind GRR, which that lets out right next to the Villains photo op! I got lucky and they had the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John out! The Sheriff hassled me for not giving him a cut out of my candy bag! Prince John I made some small talk with, and said he should look up Mayor Lionheart, before he made me kiss his royal hand.
Frollo was next up, but he swapped out for Queen of Hearts!
I did not attempt to come back for the other villains, which would have been Frollo, Governor Ratcliff, and Shan Yu

I honestly kind of just wandered around a bit at this point, I went back towards the pier, went over to the AP corner right by Goofy's Sky School and got my AP magnet! Then did a treat trail which starts at Jumpin Jellyfish and lets out at the Symphony Swings, then I walked around the long way across Pixar Pier passing all the rides, but found there was no Party entertainment back here (forgot to double check the map). Luckily I went across the bridge to the Wharf where all the food was and was rewarded with a treat trail inside the bread tour! (The entrance for treats is where the exit typically is). I then saw the entrance for another treat trail across the way at the backside of Fillmore's hut which lets out at the entry to Carsland. It was about 5 mins to 8, so I decided to go find a spot to catch the Headless Horseman and the parade! I didn't take any photos of the parade, only videos.
After that was done, I headed back toward Carland (doing that Fillmore's treat trail again hehe!). Walked to the other treat trail in the middle by Ramone's, and no one was taking any photos with Cruz!
There were lines for McQueen and Mater, but not my girl Cruz! So I got this cute pic, and then continued on my way, this time back towards Hollywood!

At this time it was only about 8:45 and I walked past the Kingdom Hearts photo op, and no one was there! I had sorta written this photo op out of my list for the night since there was an insane line already at 3pm, but I guess they had to clear it or got through it all by the time the parade came through! I asked the attendant when they'd be back, and she said Donald was due any minute, and low and behold he came right then! Ahead of me was a dad and son dressed as Sora and they were so happy!! I was second in line and I was pretty excited to get to meet Donald, since he is my fave of the fab five (he's just so cute!)
So that was awesome! I did not come back to catch Goofy, nor did I head back this way all night, so I just marveled in my perfect timing and was pretty happy!

So I made it to Hollywood, and went to the treat trail inside Stage 17 (which is where they have the PTNs in DCA from time to time btw), and in here was Dr. Facilier!! He is definitely one of my favorite villains, especially getting to interact with him at the park. He was fun, and he was doing more banter directed at the crowd. So I enjoyed watching him for a bit before continuing on my way.
I made it to the next treat trail, which you enter the Hyperion theater for, and found the Mad Hatter! He was babbling on, since he is quite mad indeed, but wasn't really interacting with anyone as of yet, so I continued on my quest for treats, AND THEN THE BEST PART OF MY NIGHT HAPPENED.

So uh, unless you, ya know, live under a rock, you may be aware that I'm obsess- I mean in love with a certain Marvel character. Well, he had some limited meet and greets at the start of this summer when End Game was out, but I was so preoccupied with visiting Batuu I never got to see him. I was heart broken, I assure you. Well I'm wandering over towards Guardians Mission Breakout: Monsters After Dark, but it had a 45 min wait, ew, when I spy a very familiar helm walking away from bothering Starlord. Could it be??? IT WAS! It was my dear Loki (and my FAVORITE Loki to boot). He actually saw ME, and beelined over, where he was so warm and welcoming, and he let me walk him back to his exit area, passing all the peons not worth of his attention ;3 (Not trying to sound mean, but he was done with his shift, and so I was personally escorting him over), and it just made my whole day. I'm forever thankful to the caliber of performers Disney hires, and that they take some of their roles so seriously, and it sounds dumb, but it really meant a lot getting to see him.
Ok enough gushing! On with the party!!

I decided to check out Mickey's Trick and Treat show! It was STUPID CUTE. Mickey and Minnie are trying to make a spooky story with the help of Donald and Goofy, and really it was all about them being in their costumes and Donald is a werewolf and omg I was just dying over the cuteness!

So after this little show (which is only about 10-15 mins long) I realized I hadn't gone to see Oogie Boogie himself yet! There was no one in the Animation building, but this was the one spot where the CMs did not let us linger at all to take photos and video. I got a quick video as I walked by. Anna and Elsa were on break, so I didn't wait for them. Instead I saw the wait was down to 15 mins for Guardians, so I headed back that way. Hit up the treat trail again where the Mad Hatter was, since it was dead (btw they also don't care if you do the treat trails more than once, there's no system to keep track and no one said anything even if they did recognize me a second time). This time the Hatter was eager to chat! So I had a little fun teasing him when he was trying to "disappear". By the time that wrapped up, Guardians was a walk on, so I got on!
Upon my exit, I saw that Star Lord was back and had no one waiting for him, so I decided I'd get that photo op (since during the day at DCA he just does his show and doesn't really stop to pose for more than a few selfies).
Well guess who showed up again, my dear Loki. So we had a little mutual fun making fun of poor Star Lord. (I love candid Photopass shots sometimes).

I made up with Star Lord after Loki left since I said I appreciated his taste in music at least, and he asked if I was an experiment like Rocket.

After this I checked out DecenDANCE party, but it was pretty low key. I'm not super familiar with the films, and a lot of the families with smaller kids headed out around 9:30, so there weren't many kids dancing or anything either. Went back to watch Dr. Facilier some more. Kinda just wandered around not sure what to do at this point haha. I remembered I had missed seeing the Evil Queen at her treat trail earlier, so I did that one again and caught her. She, like Maleficent mostly just talked menacingly and didn't really interact with the crowd. Villains photo op was the same ones I had gotten earlier. Villains Grove STILL had a 45 min wait haha...

So after a good deal of wandering, tricking and treating, picked up all the event pins, dropped off my current candy haul at my locker... It was 10:45 at this point, I had kind of missed my chance to try for World of Color, unless I really booked it back there. I ran into Loki one last time, so he said goodnight, and he said if it were him, he'd go check out Villains Grove. I realized I indeed hadn't done that yet, so I went over there and completely lucked out, I was the last guest they let in! It practically deserted, so I had the place to myself to enjoy taking photos and videos!
You'll have to check out my link at the end here, where I have all my videos and even more photos. But Villains Grove was pretty cool! I dunno about wait more than 20 or so minutes cool, but pretty cool! There's no treats, and no characters to meet or anything, it's just a bunch of mood lighting and sound effects and projections and the like. I definitely think I enjoyed it more since I was nearly the only one there.

So I missed World of Color, but I dunno the reviews didn't wow me, and I have no regrets because I did pretty much everything else, and hit all the important stuff on my list, and a surprise appearance of my dearest Loki. I can finally say I've attended a Halloween party, and now there's enough entertainment and offerings that I feel the parties are definitely worth going! I kind of wish it had ran to midnight, since I was still hopped up on adrenaline and not ready for it to end haha...

TREATS! They really aren't stingy on the treats! Also echoing Krand, and the addition of the apples and grapes was super welcome! I probably ate half a dozen packs of apples that night, because they were really good! My haul was this bag which is deceptively full of candy, a CVS shopping bag worth of Sun chips, freeze dried apples, goldfish and Frozen 2 cookies, AND my original treatbag they gave you which was full of apples, grapes, and carrots which I had to put in the fridge.

Hope you had fun reading my report, I had an absolute blast, hope this helps anyone else plan if they're doing one of the other parties this month, and here's that link to all my photos and videos!

Omg, this was such a wonderful report! I'm so glad you had a great time and that you didn't have to wait too long to get into the Villains Grove. So cool that you got to hang out with Loki so many times. I'm totally stealing some of your photos to replace some in my character collection (at least these are with someone I know).

I’m so jealous you got to meet Chip and Dale in their Rescue Rangers gear!

The Mickey and Minnie costume dance party looks adorable.

Also, I just realized I kind of do know Don Karnage - from a newer episode of Ducktales!

I should really try to watch some older Disney Afternoon cartoons just so I can get more references! :) The Rescue Rangers was the only show I was into as a kid.

I’m so glad you had a spooky great time at the park!

Awesome trip reports, @krand1276 and @pretty Omi!! My proudest dad moment at our party a week ago was when my daughter knew who Don Karnage was and Don Karnage started freaking out and tried to walk my daughter away with him. One of the early reviews I read didn't know who he was and called him some random disheveled fox. He's not disheveled, he's rather dapper!

It's funny how everyone is saying that cms wouldn't let you take pictures with/of Oogie Boogie. Oogie actually posed for me when I, dressed as Gaston of course, stepped right in front of him to obviously flex and take a not-so-quick picture or three. He remarked that I was joking and he couldn't believe his eyes. Maleficent said that it was the night for villains to rule so she was cool with me taking a picture with her too.

I kind of wish we were able to make it to the stage show since it did look super cute. I actually really liked World of Color, though. My wife didn't, but I enjoyed most of it. Of course it helped that a) the drinks at the end of the night at Alfresco Tasting Terrace were super strong and b) we had awesome spots where we could actually see the projections in full, unlike any other World of Color we've attended with the exception of when we do the dessert party.

Oh and Omi, I totally get it with Loki. I finally got the chance to meet him and now my wife thinks I have a man-crush on him.

Sorry, final thought, although the OBB was sold out, it never felt sold out. Lines were great throughout the night, there was actually room to move, we got an amazing spot for the parade and only waited 20 minutes for it, and, unlike at World, the weather was amazing. Since this was our first party on the other coast, I wasn't sure what to expect, but for many reasons, I absolutely prefer this party to the Mickey's Not So Scary and we'll definitely be attending another one next year.

@pretty Omi YAY! So glad you got to see him! I spent most of my party night going back and forth between Loki and StarLord with periodic stops for Hatter and seeing Cheshire Cat in the parade. :) Didn't get much candy (only filled the small bag they gave me and that was it) but it was a lot more than when I went to the Halloween party at WDW. They were super stingy there with adults.

I did pop over to the Malie and Evil Queen treat trails on the way back from villain's grove (which is pretty but kinda pointless with no characters) and they totally interacted with the guests. As did Hatter happily the couple of times I visited him. Got a selfie with him in the background which is the best I could get as the treat trail characters weren't doing photo ops.

A tip for anyone going to the party - don't believe the time they tell you the villain's grove line will take. They inflate it by 2-3x. I'd heard that the line rarely took more than half an hour or so. So when they told me it would be 'an hour and a half' from the point I joined, I knew not to believe it. Sure enough - half an hour wait, if that.

On the villains grove, I am hearing it’s definitely worth doing and the line will be shorter toward the end of the night. But even if they say/it looks like a long line, it moves quick so probably won’t take very long. Sound about right?

Just a couple weeks till I’m there!

Villains grove was the highlight of the night for me. We did it semi-early in the night, i.e. immediately after the parade, and the line was massive but definitely moved quickly, especially since we were chatting with all sorts of people in line. I would estimate around 20 minutes, certainly no more than 30. I didn't particularly think it was necessary, all else being equal, to wait any longer to go through it. If it fits your schedule to go in earlier, as it did with ours, I say go for it and not feel like you have to wait until the very end of the night to save a few minutes. We were always planning on doing the second World of Color, which I would recommend giving a try, so it just made sense to see villains grove sometime earlier.

Great report @pretty Omi it truly sounds like you had a TIGGERIFIC time.

Thank you to everyone else that has added their experiences as well.

    I've enjoyed reading them.

I've never been to any Special Ticket events (other then PTN's) I'm just not willing to spend the extra $$$..

But, I'll have to admit that this OBB party sounds worth the investment.

    Happy Halloween Every one!

Yeah I had no idea what to expect for wait times, but I just wasn't willing to really wait for it. I didn't wait in any lines all night save for the very beginning for Chip & Dale, and Baloo & Don Karnage, and for me that was awesome. Just didn't want to waste what limited time I had stuck in lines (which was a big issue for the Marvel party). I'll have to catch a video of the WoC show, I was glad I didn't wait in line for Villains Grove tho, and I enjoyed being practically the only person back there haha.
