Opinions please - real or fake?
Thanks for the observations! This is by no means a useful or authoritative assessment, but I'll throw you some observations.
On the one hand, I agree with you that Mali's background looks green. Granted, although women are not typically colorblind, I carry the gene for it and sometimes I see tones in a way that skews my perception.
On the other hand, her eyebrow looks like the real one in Li's guide. The left downstroke of it is thin and elegant. On the fake, it's as thick as the main curve and looks rather hideous.
Hopefully someone else can give you a more definitive answer.
Yeah, I do that as well, but nothing to stop them from saying Yes regardless of how they got them. Sad as it is to say.The other day I just outright asked, "May I ask you if you purchased your pin from DSSH?"
I will post a picture of my Mali shortly (purchased at the villains event, direct from DSSH)...Yeah, I do that as well, but nothing to stop them from saying Yes regardless of how they got them. Sad as it is to say.
Giving my non-expert opinion: I think the Mali pin pictured looks almost identical to my pin. Pics of the back would help (back of card and pin). Your green concern is interesting and I agree the picture the trader provided is slightly greener than my pin, but the picture I took of my pin also is greener than the pin I have. Thinking the green issue might be a camera issue, but I am not a picture expert.I am torn on the Maleficent. Most of it looks okay but I worry that the background on the right is more green than beige (doesn’t help that I have a bit of color blindness). Your opinions on both pins would be appreciated.

You could see if they still have the receipt, if they purchased it from DSSH. Not perfect proof (since they could still have bought a fake too.)
Thank you very much. Your pic was very helpful, especially for the portion I was concerned with. THanks for pointing out the eye. Although when I zoom in it looks pretty close when I zoom so I think I am not too concerned with that. Man, counterfeits have really made things nerve wracking!Giving my non-expert opinion: I think the Mali pin pictured looks almost identical to my pin. The lowered eye lid seems to drop lower than the one the trader is offering. I have no idea if that is a thing or not, just throwing it out there.
So an [non-expert] opinion.
If you want other pictures of my pin, PLMK.
I'll DM you.Who’s the trader? Not many people have legit DT Mali

Thanks for pointing that out. The one I am considering seems like an exact match to that one.The pictures from PTDB are the ones that I took of my authentic pins, obtained at the event
Congrats on trading for the Mali (and Hades?) Dark Tales! Thanks for pointing that out. The one I am considering seems like an exact match to that one.
From all the considerations, I am comfortable this is legit and going to go forward with the trade. They are including a second pin that I know is legit so, worst case, I did a generous 1-for-1 trade.
Thanks to all for the help!
Thanks! Not Hades. I went easy on him.Congrats on trading for the Mali (and Hades?) Dark Tales!
