Being a newby, I just noticed that the official Disney pin website has information to order new pins by making a call or sending them an email.
Have any of you tried that?
Does it work?
Does it now work?
Any tips?

I have called before and it's hit and miss. One time the operator hung up on me and didn't even want to help. The next time, the operator looked up the pins and told me which shops to go to find the pins and actually wanted to stay on the phone to talk about pins.

I know that there is a waiting period for limited edition pins and it's usually sold out by then so it's best only to order open editions via phone.
 
Yeah I agree. One time I e-mailed out of curiosity to see if it worked, but I just got a pre-generated e-mail back saying the pins were not available(they were opened edition and fairly new so not sure why lol) and then I called and the operator said she had no idea what i was talking about and have a magical day and then hung up.
