Hi We're due to go to Paris in 11 weeks - not that I'm counting! Apart from Harringtons and the Pueblo Trading post when they bring the pin board out; are there any other places that are particularly good for pin trades. Also what kind of pins should I be taking to trade??? Any advice gratefully received as I'm not new to pins (been collecting since 2002) but definitely new to the world of trading - but quickly becoming addicted! Thanks

You've got 2 very good places listed there in the Pueblo & Harringtons. A few other places that are good;
1. The Kodak / photograph shop on the bottom r/h corner of Main Street. They sell a lot & the CMs are really into their pins in there.
2. The little plaza mid way up Main Street where the pin cart is. Often French traders set up there during the week and the pin board can make an appearance too sometimes.
3. The hotels. These are under-rated, the CM lanyards see less action & the CMs are less busy so they can be good place to trade. Also its good to pick up LEs there as they're all kept in cabinets and they have to get them out specially for you.
4. Disney Village. Ok, so you may not find anything different here, but you might... I made a point of going in to every shop and found some shops were the only one to have stock of particular LEs, that I thought were sold out.

As for types of pins to take;
Lots of ordinary traders-obviously. For lanyard trading. French CMs do like pins that are larger in size quite often, so do have some nice big shiny pins in your bag to offer if need be.
Ordinary LEs-the pin boards have a LE section where you trade one-for-one.
Whatever high end pins you want to take for trading with other guests etc either a the Pueblo or in Main Street or wherever else you want to!

As with anywhere, do be aware of Hidden Mickeys as the scrapper menace has reached Paris. You are usually safe with pins you recognise as Paris rack/booster etc but just be careful otherwise.

Have fun over there!! Any question, just ask :)

Thanks so much Vickichip - so very helpful. I only started trading last year and the whole world of pin trading for me is a learning curve; but luckey for me there are lots of lovely people on here like yourself that are happy to help me move into serious pin trading mode! lol! I've been buying Limited Edition pins from the Disneystore with the hope of trading as I read somewhere that CM's like Disney Store UK pins - not sure if that is true??? Where else do you source your pins for trading?? Last year we found a very serious trading CM in the Disneyland Hotel shop who told us about the pin board in Harringtons and we later met the same CM when the board was bought out of Harringtons. Are the pin trading events just known a month advance as I would love to be there when one of these takes place.

Great info there, not sure if I can add to it at all!

Don't forget to check the Movie park too if you are going in there, I found different pins in that park to the main one as I think the regulars only go in the main park to trade so the lanyards in the Movie park see a little less action. Try the stores on the left as soon as you go in. They are very very busy with customers so it might be harder to get to the staff but they can often have nice stuff.

Again I must echo the points about the hotels and also checking the village. Check every store you can, they keep LE pins until they are sold so not all stores carry entirely the same stock. Stores NOT at the end of a ride (i.e. NOT the ones you have to walk through to get out of a ride) tend to hold onto LE's longer so try those if you're looking for more variety.

Also, ask the CM's! I wanted a cast lanyard pin really bad but couldn't find one like anywhere at all! I asked a few CM's and they thought there mat be some left on lanyards if I was lucky. One CM was amazing! She had the pin I wanted on her tie (so it was her own) and I said I'd been trying to track it down desperately! We chatted about it and she said, I don't have another but think I can help you just give me a few minutes. She went off and made a phone call and returned to tell me that she had called her friend who was working in another store in the park who she thought had the pin on her lanyard. Her friend held onto it for me and I went to trade with her! I was so grateful I gave the CM to keep (although I had to give it to her with her manager present xD as they're only allowed to trade 1 for 1 so I had to okay it). Some CM's there are amazing!

Pin Trading Nights are advertised on the pin poster released just over a month in advance BUT they are almost always the last Friday of a month :) They're not every month (most months though) but if you want to chance at one, book for the end of a month :)

The board used to move about between Harringtons, World of Disney and Pueblo but I'm not in tune with where it lives atm sadly! Sorry!
