How do you know what scenes are out there?

I have seen some people ask for a specific scene and I am just presuming that they saw that scene somewhere and are asking for one similar.

Am I wrong on that?

Do we know what scenes that they are made from?

I have searched around trying to find something like a list of scenes or collection of found scenes that have been posted, but nothing impressive so far.

How do you know what scenes to ask for?

Does anyone have any good resources for reference?
