It is real. See Jenna's post. It's not sold at the Pixar Store itself, but is a pin that was given to cast members (not all) who worked on the movie.
 
What surprised me was the fact the pin has no markings at all on the back. To me that seems a bit unusual since most companies want to get credit for their designs. It is a stunning pin and I wouldn't mind having one myself.
