However now that they aren’t selling tickets and you only need tokens to make an offer I am curious how this will work. Will we only be picking up wants of people with tables? How will they know who is participating as offers only and spending tokens? Will all token holders wants be there when we post to a board? What about someone who buys tokens day of - we won’t know their wants when posting to our boards.
This is exactly what I wonder about. No idea how P&P determines that someone might want any particular pin. And definitely true about newly added pins... I could see playing the odds on listing a new pin to the database to an event board.

I’m not a fan of P&P marking things “questionable” or “uncertain” for no real reason…

I traded for an Emile Profile and they marked it “uncertain”… I don’t know of any profiles that have been scrapped and there’s no indication on eBay that fakes are selling for dirt cheap, so why mark it “uncertain”. It creates doubt for people who otherwise wouldn’t do the research or are maybe new to the hobby.

Maybe I’m just being judgmental but it did bring me some hesitation at first.

I’ve had the same thing happen to pins I’m trading away. I definitely understand some pins being marked as such (Beloved Tales that have been scrapped, pins on eBay that are showing up for dirt cheap, etc) but unless there’s some legit proof it almost is better to not mark it uncertain IMO.

I have had the same thing happen to me. Freaked me out because it was on an ok set DA pin I really wanted that I didn’t think was faked and I had to do some research. They also did it on a very well known faked HKDL hidden Mickey to me, then flipped it as good. I rejected it because I decided not to take the chance they were wrong in the end and they asked me about the rejection and because they didn’t realize I had seen the questionable state at one point.

Every time P&P flags a pin as questionable and say they just want to do additional research... I think, but you tout yourself as the authority and I know more about X pin than you do.

P&P flagged one trade as questionable this go around and I didn't even wait. I completed my own research and accepted it without them providing any further information. I did not find anything suspicious with the pin at all.

Same here Anne! Tbh anyone can call themselves a “pin expert” but some of us here have been in the game 15+ years and have a good eye for these things. Absolutely no fault of Jenn and the teams of course, they are only trying to protect their traders and make it a good experience for all.

But marking something “uncertain”…. Well it literally creates uncertainty in the other trader as if the pin is damaged or faked or not up to par. Sometimes it simply because it didn’t come on the backing card or that Jenn just doesn’t know much about that series.

I think every trader has to make an informed decision and do some research on their own. My preference is if they instead marked it “More Info Needed to Authenticate” so that it doesn’t cause doubt in the other trader but merely lets them know that P&P isn’t super informed on that particular pin.

Glad you didn’t let it deter you. Especially for the Profile pin it was about a $350 pin I exchanged for it, and having the Emile marked “uncertain” caused me so much worry until I did my own research on eBay.

Hear, hear. The words we use matter, and they could certainly be more clear in describing their process.

Down to three trades to be confirmed from August event. All three only need the other traders approval. I think one of the trades has been in its current status for over two weeks... the other two now hitting a week. At this point I would assume my pins have been either marked as flawed or questionable/need more research. Since all three were purchased directly from Disney I know they are legit. I also inspected each pin and didn't see any flaws prior to shipping. The process really leaves a trader hanging with no information. I still would like full disclosure for the pin inspection in both directions (trader and tradee) so we can know what the hold up is.

Also, perhaps a "I want to bail" since "this is taking too long" and option. (Yes, I am impatient... especially when a trade that is not as much of interest is holding up the shipping on a pin that is greatly of interest. That said, I would not ask P&P to ship more than once.)

I'm setting up a table for the first time for next week's event. I see that it tells me which of my pins someone is ISO. Is there anywhere that tells me how many people are ISO?

I asked this a few months ago. Jenn said it was a good idea but I haven’t seen it implemented yet. Definitely email them with these suggestions bc I think it helps them prioritize enhancements! They definitely release 1-2 features before each event so they are open to ideas (this event they have allowed us to change the board name & add Notes).

Not at this time but perhaps it’s in the works. I’ve wondered about this too

The only thing you can see about the pin (right now) is how many times it has been traded.

I had 2 pending trades left that ended up being cancelled (not by me). I was offered to have my 2 pins returned or trade from a group of pins offered by P&P. One pin I want back; the other was just a booster pin from DLP. I was surprised by some of the options I could trade for, especially as it seemed very lopsided in my favor, so that was a nice surprise.

Most times it’s been the opposite for me, but I’m glad to hear of some positive experiences too!

I also had two cancelled trades from last month's event. One LE from the early 2000's and one recent blind bag pin. I didn't feel that the re-trades offered for my LE pin were particularly exciting, but the options for the other one were definitely in my favor. So I'm getting the LE pin back. I'm sure I'll have other opportunities to trade that one.

I had one pin from the July event that was cancelled. It was a really late cancellation (like 2 weeks after the August event took place). Still waiting on one of my trades to arrive at Pin and Pop from this event. All the rest of them are showing that they are ready to ship.

Last event I dipped my toe in for the first time. I didn't do a table but got some trading tokens and checked out other people's tables. I saw very few of my ISOs and didn't end up making any trades.

This time I'm trying to host a table. All 72 of my pins are marked as ISO by other people. Here's hoping they have my ISOs of a similar value.

Do you have your ISOs checked on the platform?

I will say i thought the last event was most lacking in options. Wondering how well some of the current park Halloween releases will trade if pick some up?

@dznycrzyfmly ... you are a sponsor for the September event? How does that work? And of course you don't have to answer... but wondering why?

Thanks correct. It's our first being a sponsor which is exciting. In exchange for some prize donations that we sent off earlier in the week we get a little channel promotion on the site, Facebook and other social media platforms that P&P will be using to hype up the event. There are a few other things that the higher sponsorship level has that are not included with sponsorship that we chose but totally fine with that.

We benefit a lot from the services that Pin&Pop provides and have had several friends join in the fun... some of them will be hosting tables and participating in this upcoming event for the first time! We have always been a supporter of P&P and this is just a little way we can give back for all the fun pins we've traded for over the years.

From what I can remember from last year, the Halloween trading section was a big hit! Lots of great pins were traded within the realm of Halloween (NBC, Coco, Villains... anything related to the holiday). I know I would definitely be interested in the Halloween pins from this year since I don't live close to the parks and would try to trade for them but I can't speak for everyone.
