Currently at Disney and I stopped by Downtown Disney to buy a pin or two. Just got back to my resort with my purchase and what do I find but a "shifted" Mickey pattern on the back of the pin!! Has Disney started stamping the pattern on the backs?

Some other pins I saw there were such bad quality they I would've pegged them as scrappers had I not been at the store.

I guess the way Disney is going to fight the scrappers and fakes is to make their stuff look as bad. Quality control (if you can call it that any longer) has gone downhill in the last few years.

That's... unsettling. I really would have thought that was a scrapper, based on the back.

I mean, I'm new to this, but even I can see the flaws in it...

I've had pins that were purchased directly from Disney that had the 'lip' around them. Because the quality of pins does seem to have degraded over the past couple of years, it is getting harder and harder to tell scrappers from non-scrappers. I can't tell you how many pins I've purchased (particularly in mystery sets) that have paint dips, bubbles, or finely scratched surfaces - all used to be 'tell-tale' signs of a scrapper, but not any more. It is frustrating : /. I have perfectly legit, purchased directly from Disney pins that I am too embarrassed to trade because of this. Grrrr..

On the bright side, your pin still looks great on the front! I love this pin ; ). Try not to stress about the back and just enjoy!! It is an awesome pin.

Thanks all, I love the pin! The front was fine on this one, I'm assuming that it being limited edition had something to do with that. It was some of the regular open editions that weren't great. An Ariel pin was missing an entire section of enamel in the eye, the metal was scratched, etc. It's really unfortunate that we have one less way to tell scrappers from good pins. :/
