Pin couterfeiter gets 8 years in prison

That was two years ago.

Also, if you read the article, it's because he had two prior "strikes" (crimes). His cohort got one year in jail for the same crime.
 
I think we had this same topic of discussion a few years ago when it happened.

I just checked the California Inmate Locator and he is imprisoned in Chino at the California Institute for Men. I wonder when he will get released. California has too high of a prison population and not enough space for them.

While neither men got much jail time, they both had to pay a fine for counterfeiting pins. At the end of the day, most people who counterfeit pins would only get slapped with a fine and very little jail time, if any. Also, most of these cases would honestly be handled outside of criminal court.
 
I remember reading about this when I first started learning about the darker side of the hobby.

Didn't know he was "back" though.
