So, a few weeks ago my hubby bought me a few pins from a friend of ours. One of them was 73937 Maleficent pin that was sold with the blue Aurora. Its not limited edition or anything but the back of the pin says "First Release". I've never seen one marked with that before, anyone have any info as to why that may be? Just curious. Here is a pic of the back stamp.

This stamp refers to the very first release of a pin. Secondary copies made after this first release will not have that back stamp theoretical making the first release more collectible

It's like in pokemon or baseball cards. the first run of them were "first editions". So every card printed after that run was just the normal release and didn't get the stamp. Alot of the scrapper vinylmation pins have the first release on the back of them.

That was their 'thing' a few years ago but its quietly gone by the wayside.. None of the 300+ new Open editions have the designation..
