Hi all -

I've been to pin releases at soda fountain but never one at Disneyland. I was interested in going to the rapunzel window to the magic release. Can someone tell me how it works?

Well, it depends on how Disney decides to handle it....

If disney decides that they will let it be a free for all: Folks will be running from location to location snagging up as many as they can. Kind of the way PoDM was before wristbands and formal line ups. Because it is thanksgiving day, some passholders are blocked, so it MAY reduce the snatch and grab action in the park a tiny bit. Because this is rapunzel, I have fears that it wont be a fun release.

IF Disney handles it they way they SHOULD: They will have CM's giving out wristbands at the DTD pin store. The wristbands will be color coded based on which location you choose for your pins. DTD Pin trader store, Little green men in DLR, or Fly n Buy at DCA. Each wristband is good for 2 pins, and any member of your group/family age 4 and up can have one. At 1pm any left will be available to non-wristbanded guests. This is how they do the wristbands for PoH releases, even though there is rarely a need for it. AND how they did the last few PoDM releases...

Folks will likely show up a bit early. I am figuring there will be a line starting in DTD some time after 6am? Technically, Disney doesnt let folks camp out, and used to tell people the line starts at 6am. Folks still would show up earlier than that, but disney never did much about it.

I cross my fingers that there wont be a line before 6 or 7am. I dont want anyone to think i am hyping this release, but i do think that folks will be there early. I have learned that anything rapuznel tends to make pin folks go a bit bonkers.
 


At what time do they start selling the pins? Park opening?
 
Park opening. The DTD pin trader store occasionally has different hours, but it should be opening the same time as the park. Thanksgiving day this year the parks open at 8am. And may have an early "magical morning" scheduled for hotel guests and character breakfast reservations.... MAYBE.
 
So I'll be there next week for frozen...ano Thor it sounds like. So should I head to the pin trading store at dtd first and early? Park opens at 10 that day....
 
Do they have these types of pins (LE 1000, WTTM) at all locations at the park? We have been hitting the park nearly weekly but the one pin I have never seen for sale was the Jack Skellington WTTM LE 1000 last month

WTTM usually sells out in a few days.... The skellington WttM released on October 17th, it is sold out.

The WTTM pins have been sold at multiple locations.
DTD:
  • Pin trader store.
  • World of disney.
DLR:

  • Emporium
  • Little Green Men
  • Westward Ho
DCA:

  • Fly N Buy
  • Five and Dime
  • where else? in thought there were 3 spots there too...
when they do wristband releases so far this year, they switch to just these three:
  • DTD Pin Trader
  • DLR Little green men
  • DCA Fly N Buy

I don't think you need to get there too early for these two. They'll be popular but likely won't have a campout for them.
 
Frozen opening day and Thor wont be a crazy release.Those should be in stock all day at least... possibly multiple days.

Wristbands and all that info above were specific to the Possible pinsanity of the RAPUNZEL WttM release.
 
If any one is going to be there and had the ability I would live if you could pick up an extra for me and I can pay you back!!! I gotta have this pin! Thanks if anyone can help!!
