PinPics Issues as of Late...

Lately PinPics (new site) has been a complete and utter disappointment. While I appreciate the site and 'improvements' over the last version, I would like to point out issues that I experience with it on a daily basis and am looking for feedback if others are experiencing the same.

• Logging on in IE 10 (compatibility mode on or off) rarely gets me there. The URL tries to hit http://www.pinpics.com/getscreensize (Im assuming PinPics is gearing itself for more of a mobile site as I never have issues on any of my mobile devices)
• Logging in (once you get to the site) takes a while - authentication is ultra slow.
• Mail used to be really slow...now it is GOD AWFUL slow.
• Replying to mail with Trade Assist is mundane. The Reply box is not user-friendly, where do you insert your reply with all the PinPics branding and PinPics auto-signature.
• Why am I getting Trade requests - only to reply to one and get an auto-reply that their trade assist is 'OFF'
• Why do they make it so hard to grab a pin picture URL.

As I said, I like and appreciate the upgrades to the site, just recommend a little more tweaking and please PLEASE PLEASE fix the logging in site as described above

if you have issues email them from the form, the info@pinpics.com is not working so I found out and went thru the site they did answeer

I second Fuzzybunny, you should let them know directly either as above or through there forum which is Pintalk, then they can address the issues.

But to your question its crazy slow for me to logon to there site as well. Can't answer to the other issues except that they make it hard to grab a picture url, most likely because they think that they own all the rights to the pictures and don't want them used outside there site, (which comes across a bit in poor taste since we the public submitted the pictures when it was a public driven site, therefore the copyright to said pictures may not be theres at all, but i digress)

I sure hope this doesn't turn into a bash the pinpics site thread though...

I was just there; things were fast. I’m on an iMac.

They’re not quite up-to-date on new pins, though.

I saw that HKDL has a new Hidden Mickey set; they’re not on pinpics yet.

I have been in contact with some of the volunteer mods there and they are working really hard to get everything fixed and working properly. I do know they are moving to a new host soon so that the speed issue will be fixed and they down times minimized.

The auto reply issue saying the member is not trading should be fixed. If you are still getting it then let them know.

Are you receiving email notices about the trade offers? I am just replying to those and the proper email usually is already there. If not I check the site and cut and paste the email address listed.

They are working on getting the in-site pm system fixed, but they need to make sure some of the bugs are fixed first. There is a new programmer that is working on fixing all of the mistakes that the previous programmers made. They are getting done, but it can be a slow process.

There should be some new upgrades coming very soon! For me (an admitted dinosaur) the site is finally becoming more easy to use.

As for the ease or unease of grabbing pictures like we used to be able to, they are making it harder so that others can't use a web crawler and just use information from pinpics. I use the old site for grabbing links and pictures, but when the old site finally goes away that will be a problem.
