I would prefer to pay the cost in Dollars. Just because I don't want to miss the pins for a one-night experience (not that I have a lot of pins anyway) And to be honest I don't think the poll options are right, I would vote for the ''no''-option but I don't want to say that the Grand-Floridian sucks. If there was a DPF auction for a one night stay at the Grand Californian Hotel would you be interested? Poll is anonymous so please respond, your input is important. :wavey:
I WOULD!! My wife has been asking to go back for years now. I would bid $$$ pins on it!
Waiting on an official ruling from the MODS but as soon as I hear the verdict I will let you know!
How exciting! I hope you can get approved! This would be a fun and heated auction to watch for sure!
Sounds like a great prize. I have a few questions, to make sure I understand what is proposed:
1. The room is for Jan.29 or Jan.30 - would the exact date be known before the auction began?
Yes the date would be listed in the description.
2. Would you be checking in yourself, with the winner added as an additional occupant for the purposes of registration, or would the reservation be transferred to the winner's name? (I ask because in the first scenario your credit card would be on file to cover any charges/problems, while in the second scenario the winner would be required to put a credit card on file. The registration would be in my name and they would be an occupant. I am not concerned about charges or anything else because you can request that no charges be allowed to the room and I would do that. If someone wants room service or something else they would just pay with cash or their credit card. I want to believe I can trust whoever wins but I would also ask them to sign something to the effect that they are responsible for their own expenses.
3. Did you personally pay for the night? If your employer paid for it, is your employer OK with the use you intend to make of it? I personally paid for the room with my own credit card.
4. I assume that this room was obtained at a special corporate/conference rate - is Disney OK with the use you intend to make of it?
I paid a conference rate for the room and am basically inviting someone to stay in it. The point of either trading or auctioning use of the room is to offset some of the cost (pins/art or whatever will not cover it all) as well as give every single member an equal chance at winning it. I am genuinely trying to pass along a fabulous opportunity to other members, and if someone else was offering the same thing I would be interested for sure.
