Hi Everyone,
We're jetting off from cold rainy 'out of recession' (apparently) England on our way to sunny Florida on the 7th for nearly 3 weeks of Theme parks and Pin trading! (Yes I know travelling 5000 miles to trade pins!)

Anyway... Looking at the upcoming pin releases for PODM pins we will be on one of our final days when the Beauty and the Beast PODM is released, things brings me to my question from you seasoned pro's.

We are desperate to get a PODM whilst we are there but are unsure the best place to get it. I get the impression that queues form (mainly with people planning to stick them on eBay at 5 times the cost!!!) will form and really can't waste hours of our vacation waiting around so may have to let it go.

We have access to all of the parks on release day, so the question is 'where is the best place to get the pin on the day, and what time does the pin become released?

I appreciate that some of you may have this information but don't want to announce it in public because of the lines spreading however, we would really appreciate it if you could PM us with advice as we only want 1 for our collection

thank you
JJ

I'm not sure people want to share their secrets. The store at DTD opens at 9:30. The parks usually open at 9, however since it's a holiday more parks might have early entry and I'm not sure what that is going to do for the store openings. MK usually has early entry, but even though the park opens at 8, the pin isn't available until 9 when Frontierland opens. Since you have park admission, a park is probably better that DTD, because DTD is where all the people who don't have park admission go and the line forms early. When I was there for the Mulan release, we got to DTD as our 3rd stop about 10:30 and there was still a full queue. However, after we finished lunch at Earl's, about noon, we took a peek again and the queue was gone but some pins were left. A very limited quantity is also sold at the shop at the Contemporary, but I have no idea when the line forms for that. Studios gets the least amount of pins, besides the Contemporary. The other 3 parks, you should be fine to buy pins as long as you are at the turnstyles before opening, and proceed directly to the store.

Stores:

DTD - Pin Traders (given 4 pins to look at, can buy 2)
Contemporary - 4th floor concourse (not sure of the name)
Animal Kingdom - Island Mercantile
Epcot - Pin Central (has varied between given a choice from a few pins, or on the racks)
Hollywood Studios - Hat Shop
Magic Kingdom - Frontier Trading Post (all of their allotment will be on the racks, and people pushing to get the best scenes)
