okay so I have some pins i need to ship. Went to the dollar store to buy the bubble packaging envelopes but they only had the large ones. I bought some regular paper envelopes and bubble wrap. Any tips on how to really secure pins in this type of packaging?
I also have some bubble mailers others have sent, can I re-use those?

Comments will be very appreciated. :)

I would reuse the other mailers people sent. Just make sure you tape them up real good. I think I've bought bubble mailers twice since i started collecting and trading pins. I reuse bubble mailers all the time. Its a lot cheaper in the long run.

For the larger envelopes, if you bought those already, just cut them in half. After placing the pins inside (wrapped in bubble wrap), staple the open end together and then use tape on top (so no one pokes themselves on the staples).

But, you can also use the brown envelopes (with or without clasps). Wrap the pins in bubble wrap and cardboard, then place inside brown envelope.

I'm thinking that regular envelopes will not survive with a pin inside and would avoid using them. I'd re-use the bubble envelopes, as they appear to be much more durable than a regular envelope.

Just don't do what someone did when they posted a pin to me... They cut a bubble mailer in half then used only tape to seal the open end... Needless to say, I received an empty package because it either got sliced on the machine or someone stole it :( use lots of staples! I personally wouldn't trust that way after what happened to me. I try to reuse packing where I can though.

Do you have a replacement pin? Because I'm still thinking that even a doubled regular envelope will fail when used to mail a pin. They simply weren't designed to hold more than regular letter paper and they will probably try to put it through the mail sorter for regular mail and shred the envelope and lose the pin. The bubble envelope won't fail, like a regular envelope, and is not likely to have to go through the sorting machine.

I always reuse bubble mailers (I often wonder how many trips one envelope ends up taking..) I am a fan of packing tape though and have (knock on wood) never lost a pin both coming and going when in a bubble envelope.. Had an ebay auction come in a single white envelope that was severely beat up and broken in a 'courtsey' bag from the P.O..

Also make sure they don't try to send them as 'regular letter' (i.e 92 cents) I had a P.O lady udderly convinced that they were "fine" going that way.. That pin never arrived (still think its stuck in a machine somewhere..) and when I went back had a good fight with her over charging me the 2.97 (try to avoid her when I can though..)

My brown envelope suggestion is the one that measures 5 x 7 or 6 x 9. Not the regular #10 letter-sized envelopes

Yeh I try to reuse too, u end up accumulating soooo many bubble envelopes it would be silly not to, I like to do my it for the environment!! :) I wouldn't risk using regular paper envelopes as they tear quite easily and you have to think of all the sorting machines and handling these envelopes go through, a bubble one would be a lot more reliable! Less likely to tear, rip, and would protect your pin more.

Don't be so cheap. Use the good bubble mailers and bubble wrap. Wouldn't you want to receive your pin in excellent condition.

Make sure you wrap the pins in bubble wrap. I had one person send me pins by pinning them onto the ebay receipt and sliding the receipt into an envelope. Another one just threw the pin into an envelop, not even a bubble envelop. Guess how i received the pins? With bent posts!
