Hi all! I got my first trade request on pinpics today and it is for this Beast pin. I didn't read the pin description and after reading it now it seems a little suspect. Is a pro pin a real pin? Does anyone know of this pin? I cant find it online.

If I do decide to go through with the trade do I just say that I agree, ask for references, then give them my address and mail my trade? Thanks!

Yes its a real Disney pin. Its made by a german company that were licenced by Disney to make pins in the mid 90ths. that Beast pin is part of a 9 pin set. I own it and its quite small but very nice. completely in gold metal.
However you can't use it to trade with CMs in the parks because its not made BY Disney but a company that wee licensed to make disney stuff. But it is still a real Disney pin and some of these Propins are very hard to find so they can be good to trade with other collectors.

I was wondering myself about Propins. Thanks for the info.

propins CAN be traded in the parks as they have the ©disney. just like jerry leigh and sedesma they are legal pins

propins and sedesma were the 'cheap traders' before scrappers..

You probably received the request from me. Hi :wavey: Like Snoffsan mentioned they are a German company that was licensed by Disney to make pins in the mid 90's. They made a lot of pins of characters and poses you don't normally see. They are small pins but the detail is amazing and they are becoming much more popular now as they do feature hard to find characters and there are not as many out there as they used to be. When I first started trading many years ago they were half the price of what Disney was charging and as such were very popular to use as traders. Propins and Sedesma pins are not tradeable in the parks to cast members as they are not cloisine<sp> pins. Quite a while back Disney made that distinction. People were complaining about cast members only having these cheaper pins on their lanyards because (especially Sedesma) pins are not as high quality as the pins Disney released in the parks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the great info!! I'm learning more everyday about pins!

I did receive the request from you docfish4u, I didnt realize you were on here or I would have PM'd you! Like I said I'm learning everyday! I'll PM you from pinpics but I'm really looking for forever pins or ones that I can trade and since I can't trade that beast one in the parks and its not at the top of the list I think I will respectfully decline the trade. You do have many other pins that I like in your trades though so maybe we can make a deal!

Thanks again everyone!

I am always happy to help whenever I can. Lmk if you would like references, I have several pages worth at dizpins as well as a couple here.

I think all agree with me when saying that Docfish2u is the most trustworthy and amazing trader you can find so if he wants to trade with you I would totally go for it RosieRiverter!

I could think of no one better to make your first trade here with!

Ditto.
