I just received Pin 99127: DLP Pin Trading Night - Jack Skellington - NBC from a trade and noticed a difference in quality. Has Paris recently changed the quality of these pins?

The weight of the Jack pin is considerably less than previous PTN pins (I am comparing it to Paris Russell PTN released in June 2013), there was no gloss sheen to it and the backstamp is not as pronounced. The pin is thinner and the edge of the Jack pin is not polished to a shiny finish.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I don't want to be a negative nancy but I heard that jack, nana and facilier were being sold pre-release on the hong kong equivalent of ebay. Facilier and nana were not even released at the event so they were counterfeited. I saw a pic of the facile. That could be a possibility. Or they could just be using cheaper materials. Hopefully it's the second option :) Disney pins overall feel cheaper to me. Especially paint quality.

There has been a few Paris Ptn that have started to be counterfeited. I can't remember the exact characters that are confirmed but yeah... If jack is one of the harder older ones it might be counterfeit. :/ sorry.

Thank you Amy and colorwindpainter. My investigations are proving Jack to be a counterfeit or scrapper. Its just a bad pin overall. So sad. I figured I was safe trading with someone from France for a Paris pin.

Counterfeit pins still show up here too! The DLP lanyards are stocked with them, and a lot of people from all over europe use ebay to buy pins. I buy sometimes from a secondhand website, but I'm buying from people who assure me they've bought from the park... If something ends up on the pin board at the park who knows... This is really disheartening and I'm really sad for you. All the paris pins I have are lovely quality, very thick, so I don't know what to tell you. plus they cost a bit even new so...

I've heard this too about "fake" ones for the last pin release, I think the pictures I saw of the ones that weren't even out ware Mater, Nana and another one (can't remember the third). Apperently it was noticable on the backstamp, usually Paris pins numbers on the back are lasered, and on those pins mentioned they weren't.
