Okay I was wondering if anyone else gets NOT FOUND when you click on a persons matches to trade or matches to wants. I clicked on someones and got a page that said
[h=1]Not Found[/h] The requested URL /cgi-bin/search.cgi was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

and I clicked on my trades and wants and it said the same thing. Is there a problem with it or is it you can not see the matches nor the wants any more?

The pinpics lists no longer work, and no one knows if they will again. Unfortunately searching for trades/wants on pinpics has to be done manually at the moment.

The old database is still active... Whenever you click on one of the links here on the forum, just add 'gallery.' to the beginning of the URL after you get the error... Still an extra step, but easier than manually doing the search on the new site.

I suspect even that will stop working when they actually take down the old version of the database, but it works for now...

[Edit] Heh, just barely beat me to that... :)

I'm sure it has to do with PinPics having a new site. The page that our old hyper links refer to are broken because of the new site.

Maybe the admins here will fix it some day or allow us users to fix it in out profile page (I assume we can't at this point).

Pinpics have said they won't be allowing other sites to link to pinpics for now. But are open to negotiation about it.

I'm not sure if you can create a database search URL on the new site via username... And you have to be signed into to the site for it to work (which apparently you didn't have to be on the old database).

On the new system, everyone has a User ID #, and that's what is used by the system to search. My user ID # is 33211, so if you wanted to see what I have for trade that matches your wants, this is the URL:
http://www.pinpics.com/member.php?t=ct&uid=33211
(To find your user ID, just do a search for your user name and look at the URL it provides)

Notice my uid at the end, and the system will know to match to you if you are logged in (if you go this URL while not logged in, it will ask you to log in).
To see what's on my wants that you have for trade:
http://www.pinpics.com/member.php?t=cw&uid=33211

I'm guessing that
ct = 'compare traders'
cw = 'compare wants'

There's also co, 'compare owns'
http://www.pinpics.com/member.php?t=co&uid=33211
Will show all the pins that we both have in our collections.

To see someone's entire collection, you simply remove the t variable:
http://www.pinpics.com/member.php?uid=33211
(Still makes you log in)

The forum software could be easily modified with these new links, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find out the UID of each user. (We could each do it ourselves and fill it in on our profile, but there might be a simple database search that would be able to grab it, or a different ID-tag in the URL that allow us to use the name vs the ID #).

Yeah, that's the current work-around... But supposedly they are going to remove the old database completely at some time, and then we'd need to find another way... :)

OH boy, to much steps ! I quess I"ll play around with it later am in the middle of making dinner,

What to know what I cooking? is going to make your mouth water !

I am making chicken breadind with whole wheat flour than in a light egg wash fried in a little bit of canola oil "a little oil" with a side of 100% wheat pasta with spaghetti four cheese vodka sauce. YUMMY!!!!

If you like the recipe fell free to ask. My cooking is a a 30 min cooking simple and delicious.

Well got to go to the kitchen to make the pasta and sauce. :lol:

pinpics has chosen not to allow DPF to currently link to the NEW system. I am crossing my fingers that once pinpics works out all the bugs they will roll out link info to all pin groups/forums/sites.

They're currently sorting out all the issues with the new pinpics database, I'm hoping once its sorted they'll allow DPF to link to it.

Pinpics is missing out on lots of traffic as a result of these broken links. It's in their best interest (as well as the pin trading community) to fix these and redistribute them for use. I suspect it will happen in due time.
