I know that the bubble mailers we use for pins are now considered "packages" according to the post office. I was just looking at postage rates on usps.com and it now shows that all packages up to 3 oz. are $1.71?

When did that happen? Last time I had checked it was costing $1.22 to mail a pin. Was there an increase recently?

Yes, change happened recently. I want to say it happened within the last 1-2 months.

Interesting to know because I have mailed a few pins for trades recently with $1.22 for postage and they have been delivered.

It changed in April - if you print your postage through paypal you can send up to 3 oz for $1.75 and that includes delivery confirmation slightly cheaper than buying it at the PO

Stamps.com has the same rate as PayPal, since PayPal shipping has been so spotty of late. Also, Stamps.com can do First Class International labels, so no more mailing out with the carbon copy forms to fill out. It is all on one label!

Leave it to the USPS to increase the rates again. I use foam padded mailers and wrap the pin in bubble wrap for protection while on it's way to it's new owner.
