Question regarding "cast member" pins.

Hello forum-goers, I happen to be new to the whole pin trading thing (I own no pins at this point - so sad!) and was wondering, do cast member/lanyard/hidden mickey pins ever come with backing cards?

They do not have backing cards. Store pins, Soda Factory and Disney Studios pins have backing cards.

Yeps these type of pins didn't come with backing cards just ones for sale..

Sometimes Disney releases the Hidden Mickey pins for sale (2 for $12-ish or so) but even then, they come in a black (non see-through) bag and no backer card either.

I have purchase pins from the cast member store inside Team Orlando building, and the pins were on backer cards. Aren't these pins considered cast member pins?

Usually these are not on backer cards.

If you purchased the pin it comes with a backer card. I believe they are talking about the ones on the lanyards the cast members have that walk about the parks.

The OP was asking about Hidden Mickey/Cast Lanyard pins which aren't really cast member pins. It only refers to their method of distribution. Pins sold to CMs for their personal use, sometimes come with backer cards, sometimes are just in a little plastic baggie and sometimes in a plastic case.

Hm/Cast lanyard do not come with backer cards. Any pin that you have to purchase will come with a backer card.

So HM/Cast Lanyard pins can sometimes come with their own backer cards?

That is true only way to get them at first is thru a CM so no backers at all you must be thinking of company D stores maybe?

Not really. There are plenty of pins you have to purchase that come in plastic bags (PWP pins, HM pouches and many pins sold at the cast stores), or boxes with plastic bags inside of them (mystery pins) and do not have backers.
