Trade Winds Pins

Hi all,

I know not to get panicky when it takes awhile for pins to get to their destinations outside of one's own country. On March 12, I mailed a pin for a trade to Hong Kong. That seems like enough time for the other person to get their pin. Neither one of us has received our pins (I e-mailed the other trader and they replied); before I made the trade I looked at their references and saw the trader had a lot, some with "repeat trades" which is mainly what I look for, instead of contacting people to ask if the person is a good trader (because I usually don't get responses either way).

Anyway, do you think the respective post offices screwed up (oh gee, *that* never happens, does it? ) and the pins are in limbo somewhere, or does it usually take a couple of months between the US and Hong Kong?

I bought something from hongkong, and the seller warned me that thier post office is waaaaay backed up... stated reason that I don't recall. 3 weeks ago it "shipped." not here yet.

Hong Kong inspects both incoming AND outgoing packages, so yes it takes a while. Typically 4-6 weeks or longer is not out of the norm. The ONLY things that will get through quickly are UPS or FedEx packs. I think there is economy service available, but it is still pricey and takes a few days.

I'm still waiting for Mr.Balloonatic in Ireland to receive my pins and I sent them in March . Whenever Lady And The Tramp was released . I received his but he didn't receive mine . Am very upset as I sent him good pins .

Well, don't give up hope, Tinker, really, it does sometimes take weeks for post offices to get their acts together and deliver. I haven't traded with anyone in France lately, but I remember trades going to/from France took a long time. I've traded with people in Japan, and it's pretty quick (less than a week, sometimes!). It just depends. Don't give up yet.
