I really lucked out going to DCA yesterday! Got there at 7:30am, got on Radiator Springs Racers in 30 min! And I got all the pins I wanted from the opening: Red Trolley Car set, No.5 Walt dedication pin, No.10 Carthay Circle Theatre Grand Opening pin, No. 11 Red Car Trolley Grand opening, and several others I wanted. When I first got to the animation bldg, they said all the merchandise was moved to Off the Page & Fly N Buy. Off the Page still has 10 trolley car sets left as of 7:00pm last night and most of the AP items except Zone 4 No.1 Radiator Springs Racers pin. Fly N Buy has No. 5 Walt dedication, No. 8 Luigi's Flying Tires Grand Opening, No. 9 Mater's Junkyard Jamboree Grand Opening, No. 10, No. 11, No. 12. And I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Mickey & Friends parking, I got right in! And no waiting at all at the trams! Then when I got to DCA, again no lines, walked right in at 7:45am! Went on Rad. Springs Racers first while waiting for the shops to open, then went and got my pins. Radiator Springs Curios also had a few of the pins, but no LE's. All in all a VERY fun day for me!

Glad to hear you were able to get what you wanted Guy! And thank you for the update on remaining pins too.

Glad to hear you were able to get your pins and on the ride with no problems. I know you were very nervous about them having enough pins left after the grand opening. I think pins were limit 1 per purchase so that helped.

I have a co-worker going for me, I hope she doesn't have too hard of a time finding the pins. She's not into pin trading at all and I'm sending her on this hunt.

Thank you for the info. I'll be going there on Thursday for the Little Mermaid pin release and will probably have time to go to DCA. If someone's looking for a specific pin let me know via pm and you can either buy it from me or trade for it.

So glad you were able to get your pins!!!! Also happy you were able to ride the ride!!!!

Can't wait to go, and whenever that is, I will let you know so we can do some trading. Not like last time where you snuck in and said hi and ran out. lololol

Behave and have fun!!!

Vicki

Just got back. No reveal conceal that I saw. They had AP Radiator Stings Racers opening day aand AP Revving Up Cars Land opening day still. They said only 3 or 4 of the $125 trolley sets left. That's it for pins.

I was there on Opening Day. It was a crazy blast! I waited in line a long while before I got into the animation building. It was a pretty efficient process. I got a few pins just to commemorate being there:
Pin 90889: DLR - Cars Land - Grand Opening - I Was There
Pin 91031: DLR - Disney California Adventure Commemorative Opening
Pin 91054: DLR - Carthay Circle Theatre - Grand Opening
Pin 91057: DLR - I Was There - Disney's California Adventures Opening Day
Pin 90718: Cars Land Reveal/Conceal - Sally Carrera - Cozy Cone Motel sign
It came with a conceal pin that I didn't like so I traded it away.
I also really liked another pin that I got from a trading cart near Cars Land:
Pin 90888: DLR - Cars Land - Carburetor County Pin Trading Association sign
On the opening day, people waited in line for hours to ride the Radiator Springs Racers. Me and my friends got super lucky. A family was walking by and said they had a green light pass and that we could join them. We walked in through the exit and got on the ride in about 20 minutes. We didn't go on any other rides in Cars Land.
Cars Land itself was awesome. I liked the way they lit the area up at night - one neon sign at a time!
Since I have never been to DLP, it was a blast! I am a WDW vet and really enjoyed this trip. I think my favorite ride was the Midway Mania ride!

Thanks for all the congrats & comments on my DCA pin aquisitions! I really loved the Radiator Springs Racers ride! Super fast at times with a good amount of slow driving too! Loved all the beautiful scenery of the whole town and rock sculptures. I didn't go on Tow Mater's ride or Luigi's Tires. Hope to this weekend!

Mater's ride is so much fun. You can't help but not smile and laugh. Just watch the faces of the riders while you're in line. They will be all grumpy about the line times but when they get on the ride it all melts away. Perfect date ride too!

Date ride? i like family adventure rides..

It's a good family ride too, but it's good for a date because you can put your arm around a girl and then you slide and bump into each other. Makes the touch barrier thing less awkward. I also like Big Thunder Railroad for dates. Hand holding rides are Haunted Mansion, Ariel, Monsters Inc, and Pirates. I don't suggest Toy Story Mania or Buzz Lightyear for an early date. Guys are competitive and girls get mad when they lose. Jungle Cruise and Pirates are ok but if it's an evening date the boat rocking can make her feel sleepy and that relates to you being boring. For some excitment the usual Space Mountain, California Scremin', Indiana Jones and Radiator Springs Racers are best bets. Also the lines will give you plenty of time to talk.

Wow.

I am rather impressed/baffled/intrigued/scared/amazed that someone has put this much thought into this subject. Aren't you married, Mark?

I'm sure there are many guys (maybe girls too) out there taking notes!

Sounds cool. I heard it uses Test Track technology or something. I've seen photos of the scenery around there... it looks amazing! And very pretty when all lit up at night too.

I went to DCA on Monday and it looked like they had a good number of each of the pins at Fly and By. I had figured they would have all sold out, but I'm glad they didn't! I can't wait to ride Radiator Springs Racers. That's the first stop when I go to DCA tomorrow! And yes, Mater's ride is a great date ride. But be warned, you WILL squish your date against the side of the cart. And she will squish you too.... that didn't sound right, but you get what I'm saying. My girlfriend and I did not expect to enjoy the ride as much as we did!

Oh and about the date ride thing... as it was mentioned; I'd only consider The Haunted Mansion to be a 'date ride' if I got Ezra as my Hitchhiking Ghost.

Anyhow! The new land seems great; maybe one day I'll get to go to DLR and DCA. ^_^;

I overanalyze trivial situations for comic relief. Hopefully someone takes notes, that was a lot of typing for nothing if not. HAHA. I am married, my wife and I go on "date night" to Disneyland. Typically Tue or Wed night. It was my friends wife that said Mater's is a good ride to "cop a feel." Totally out of the blue since she is usually quiet.
