On one of the groups, someone mentioned that a well known scrapper and/or counterfeit seller (ebay) has a lot of new pins. Here are pictures of the recent counterfeit pins:

Always sucks to see this happening, and hurts even more to see a few pins that you have been looking for, ugh!

Mostly a rhetorical question, but why oh why haven't so many of the "well known counterfeit sellers" been taken down yet? I know Disney has stopped some in the past, but really obvious ones like this stick around for years!

 
Urg. So many on my wanted list. Well, at least I'm not buying many pins right now.

if it can be proved, and I'm sure it can, can't eBay take them down? Rules against counterfeit merchandise and all? I'm not well versed in it, outside of hearing about the occasional seizure and destruction of faked merchandise at ports and such.
 
Yes, I noticed that they were selling the WDI Alice in Wonderland pins and I was pretty unhappy about that.

In theory, you could probably hurt the person's sales by purchasing small items and then leaving negative feedback so that their feedback rating reflects their bad reputation.
 
Some of these I can't even imagine why they would fake. The Hannah Montana Marquis? Really? I bet they lose money on that!

I am guessing it has to do with making sure that DPF doesn't get in trouble for slandering names (you never know, someone could be called a scrapper seller who really isn't, or just honestly didn't know what they had), but yeah, it is not allowed here.

Too bad we don't have a safe place to keep a list going though. Someplace where members could add names and pins to watch out for, maybe private/needing a password to get to. But then I guess you'd have to worry about a fake member changing the information and such...
 
Thanks for update, sad to see so many. Does anyone know if when counterfeit pins are bought, are they on backer cards?
 
So infuriating. I've got like 7 pins I'm in search for on those.

What is worse is it makes it hard to trust ANYONE moving forward. A well meaning person may be trying to resell or trade what they thought was a great deal. So much sadness is caused by these expletives.
 
It's a double-edged sword for both buyers and traders. I have one of those pins, but since now it's been counterfeited its trading value will probably plummet. Sometimes the greed of people amazes me. Thanks for keeping us posted Starry_solo.

Always disheartening to see this.

I hope someone adds fake warnings to the pinpics listings. That's always a big help to save traders a headache in the long run.
