Hey ya'll!

Just wanted to remind and encourage everyone that if you come across scrappers please add to the 'scrapper notes' on the pin's PinPics* page I know it's an extra, added step but adding to the database helps everyone involved. And you'll get points toward our Loyalty Program!

Thanks!

Just a few questions and suggestions for you guys:
Are you allowing pictures of scrappers as well as general scrapper guidelines on every pin?
Also, how about a separate section for fakes, since those are different?

That's not a bad idea! I passed it along

Only issue I think might arise though would be the fact that the number and variations among scrappers/fakes out in the market may prove to be too great to catalogue. And or the PinPics content would end up being 2x1 scapper/fake examples vs. real pins :anxious:

Unfortunately scrappers has become the generic name for anything thing that might include real scrappers (official pins that did not meet quality control), and fake pins. Kind of like Kleenex is the name everybody uses for facial tissue.

As for allowing pictures of "scrapper" pins there is a huge problem with that. There are more then one source for some of these pins. It could mean having 5 or more listings for each pin. That just is not feasible.

There are some well-known scrapper sellers on ebay, can we use their listings as an example when we note that there may be a scrapper (without identifying them)?

You can mention the ebay seller when you post a scrapper note. It will be removed once it is confirmed.

Is there any double checking with these reports? I ask because on Facebook I constantly see people name their "100% sure!" ways of telling a scrapper. And the thing is that the signs they look for are often issues with legit pins that pass through slacking quality control lately. Sure there are some DEAD giveaways, but some things are issues that many legit pins have now.

Hi Geoff,

Yes every report is researched. Which is why it can take a while to get them approved. All reports must be approved by a moderator.
