Hello all!

Seems like a long time since I have been active here and with pin trading in general. I am going to be downsizing and think it's time to let go of the rest of my pins. A while back I sent most of my traders to the Grailslayer to be used at his zapping discretion. However, I kept all of my WDI Characters in Sorcerer's Hat pins and all of my DLP event pins. If you look at my traders and keepers on Pinpics you will see what I have. My username is cjvandever. I would like to sell all the pins I have left.

Since it's been awhile, I'm really not sure of the value of and demand for the pins I have. I notice as I look around the forum that there is a big demand for Frozen pins. I only one or two of them. Would it make more sense to try and sell my pins here or on eBay? Since I have no idea of the demand for them, I have a hard time knowing what their value of might be. Anybody up for taking a look at my pins on Pinpics and giving some advice? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

i forgot to mention that I noticed on eBay that there is someone selling obvious scrapers of the DLP pins. Mine are all original and most are one their original cards. I'm pretty sure that all my WDI Sorcerer hat pins are on their original cards.

I had Trade Assist turned off. I changed that so now you can look at all my traders. I have some older Tinkerbelle pins and other LE pins as well. Take a look!

PS- Thanks to everyone who has PM'd me with messages of interest in specific pins. I am not responding at this time because it will take me some time to work up prices, make the decision where to sell, decide if I'm going to sell the pins as a lot or sell them individually, etc. It's really early days yet. I really appreciate all the interest and that may help me make some decisions, but I'm not there yet. One thing I can say is that I am definitely not trading. I am only interested in selling. Thanks again!

You could try here first and whatever doesn't sell (which may be most of it), then could go to ebay.

I haven't taken a look at your pins but the DLP event pins (which are an awesome series) just aren't in the general modern pin community consciousness unless they are characters people are specifically collecting.

However, the Characters in Sorcerer Hats pins are very popular and still desirable, especially the earliest ones or popular characters (like cats or princesses).

Take a look at some closed auctions on ebay to see what your pins have actually recently sold for. You'll likely be disappointed at the Paris pins but happily surprised at the WDI ones, especially if they're characters people really want.

Yeah, I think the obvious scrappers are driving down the prices of the PTN pins. You know when the Rapunzel PTN pin is going for $5, that it's not real. It's sad, really. But thank you so much for your valuable advice. I really appreciate it.

The cats in sorcerer hats are popular. Marie, Figaro, and Dinah are the most popular ones. you could probably get $300-500 for each of them.

Thanks, Starry. That's very helpful. KSnuggles, here is the image from the Dumbo PODM. Sorry for the huge picture. I have tried to resize it 3 times in Photobucket and it just doesn't change.

Best of luck with your sale! I see a Donald Duck PTN and a few hats I enjoy. Will await to see where they end up, price wise.

Off the top of my head, I can give you a rough sense of the value of your remaining Mulan pins.

Mulan and Mushu PTNs: $40-50 each
DSF: $30-$40
Paris locket: $20-$30
Marquee: $50-$100
110th Legacy: $100-$150
Pearl medallion: $100-$150

(The last two have actually gone up in value recently, I've noticed.)

I hope you'll still pop in and say hello from time to time if you get the chance!

Thanks Kim! That is so helpful. i do have a Mulan PODM, but I don't think the scene is very desirable. I'd appreciate your thoughts on it, as you are the resident Mulan expert. Again, sorry for the picture quality.

For that scene, you could probably get somewhere between $30 and $50. Sellers tend to price PODMs high, but then they don't sell.

Agreed. I haven't paid more than $100 for any of the Mulan PODMs that I have purchased (most have been $60 or less).

PODMs aren't as desirable anymore, for some odd reason.

I have some advices on PTNs in general
The newer ones are not very high in price, I think most sell for 20 or 25$, but you have some older ones for which you could get a higher price, such as Chip&dale, cinderella or Alice, I would say they woould go for around 80$ dollars.
In general I could say that popular charachters will sell for a higher price e.g. Elsa than very unpopular ones. I would also look at Pinpics trade/want ratio, so you can roughly estimate the value.
Hope it was a bit helpful

This thread makes me so sad. We are loosing a great person in the community.

As for selling, are you looking to do it in one bigger sale or do you have the time to do this for weeks or months. I found when I was selling that if you flood the market (here or ebay) that you have people choosing which pins they want to bid on and the prices do not end up as high. If you spread it out and have some variety of styles of pins you can maximize your return on the auction site. I think somebody mentioned to try and start here and then go to the bay. Not a bad idea. If you do go to the bay I have had the best luck starting things at 10 dollars and then letting people get excited about them and bid them up.

We will miss you!!!

I sent you a PM for this pin, did you get my PM? Plmk

Hi, TBird. Please see the original post. I'm not at the point that I am ready to sell. This post was primarily for me to gather information. I appreciate your interest and If I make the decision to sell here first, you can look for that pin in my sales thread. Thanks!

David, you have been such an awesome example of generosity and friendship! I will miss you and many others that I traded and talked with here. Thank you for all that you have done for me. You are a truly remarkable man.

Oh ok....sorry about that, I must have misread it. Thanks.

Don't forget that your sorcerer hat pins are real. They are also falling into the less expensive
category in sales at certain places due to counterfeits.

Wow impressive collection ... love that you have one of my most favorite pins ...

Pin# 95771 DSF - Beloved Tales - Bolt
I just love that scene so much ... my daughter and I just crack up hard every time!!
