Howdy all,

I have gotten to the point in my pin journey, where I don’t think I need so many trader pins sitting around in my closet. The pins I need left for my collection are older Disney auctions pins that people don’t exactly have sitting in their trading books.

I think I’d like to start selling my traders off. Hopefully I can outright purchase the last grails I have, and maybe help with medical bills (cancer is expensive).

I typically haven’t sold many pins above cost in the past, and pricing all of these pins out seems like a bit of a pain. Looking for advice on anyone that has had a similar experience.

I’d like to offer them up to everyone on the forum before heading through Ebay or instagram as well.

Appreciate your desire to give us first dibs! Still, the best place to determine fair price is on ebay with recent sales. If you ever sell on ebay, you have a seller's account and, with that, you can get more specific history such as the actual price paid for best offers, and longer history (3 years) which is helpful if it is a rarely sold items. Then once you have the price, you can decide if you want to adjust it down a bit to help sell it faster, etc. Also, keep in mind that ebay takes cut of like 10-15% so if you sell elsewhere, you can offer a lower price and still come out the same. But don't forget the PayPal fee of about 3%.

If you don't want to do all that leg work yourself, you could have someone else do it for you for a cut of the profit, or in exchange for pins, etc. There are folks out there (myself included) willing to do anything from help price it to take care of the entire selling process.

You could also consider just selling all of it to a reseller or another collector interested in acquiring them all. That would likely be your fastest path but least profit since the other person will likely want a deep discount for taking everything (especially if they are a reseller).

Good luck regardless of which way you go! And I look forward to seeing your sale.

I agree with @Ajk
What are you looking for?
The most money for your pins?
The least amount of time spent selling your pins?

Personally, I'd offer it for sale here first, sell what you can and then maybe sell leftovers to a reseller, just to be done with them.

Since you're in So Cal, you should contact Josh at My-D Pins. He can usually give you cash or a check for your items. I've done that when trying to get rid of stuff I no longer wanted. Yes, I know I was probably getting 50-cents on the dollar (he'd offer more if you wanted store credit) but it was a way to get rid of stuff.
