Hey, guys!

I was curious...I've heard that a lot of people are selling pins on Instragram. I don't have it myself, but I have a basic understanding of how it works. Since I'm about to sell of most of my traders, I was wondering if it might be a quicker/easier way for me to go. To that end, I have some questions for those who are familiar with it.

1.) I assume there's a tagging system, and that's how people can search for and find your posts? Or do you post to communities...?

2.) Does it have a selling system embedded into it, or do they just see your post and contact you to chat? And is there in-system messaging, or would you have to share your phone # for texting?

3.) Does it seem to be more popular than FB communities? Ebay is something I occasionally use, but because of the fees, it's usually my last stop.

I think that's the only questions I have right now, but I'd love to hear stories. Do grails and HTF pins rule Instragram, or do pins of all types have their market there?

I've bought and sold a few on Instagram.

1) You tag your pins as you'd tag anything else you want someone to find. Look at see what others are tagging for similar pins if you need. Instagram is not a "community"-type social media thing like Facebook is. There aren't groups. Sometimes people will run a like... "group" page, but it's run by one person and they'd probably just post your pic and say "contact ______"

2) No selling system. Similar to how you'd buy something on here. They'd find your post with the tags, comment, and send you a private message. You then work out the rest through there. I highly suggest you do NOTHING as Friends/Family through paypal. Use the Goods/Services ONLY.

3) I find the facebook groups hard to keep track of. Things just move too fast and I don't have the time to sit around all day watching it. With Instagram I'd find pins I want by following people who have similar pin interests as me. Sometimes people will be on both, sometimes people will prefer to post to one or the other. With the people I've bought from in the past they seemed to like to sell on Instagram because they tended to be more familiar with the people looking to buy pins from their collections.

I've gotten quite a few of my harder to find Ursula pins through people I've met on Instagram.

I'm not sure about Instagram, but you could sell me all of your Lion King pins if you want. ;P

Ah-ha! I'd be shocked if I even had one, honestly! I think I have a Scar from the latest HKDL set? And that's it! It doesn't help that I have a trading friend that has Lion King as one of their main collections, so she gets the lion's share (ba-dump bah)!

Interesting! So following the tags and such are how it works...is it sort of like Tumblr/Twitter, where you have a dashboard, and all the things you follow pop up, and you can scroll? Not so much comments, more like "likes" and "reblogs"?

Thanks for the info!
