if anybody can be of some help.far as scratches on a pin goes if there is a scratch on the pin and it is the color black on the pin where the scratch has anybody tried going over the scratch with a sharpie pen to say wether it would be that noticeable or ruin the pin?I have a pin for my own personal collection that is scratched on the black paint or enamel and was wondering if that would work or ruin in for those that have tried it.thanks

I'm not sure, but rubbing alcohol will remove the sharpie from the pin if you decide to try it and don't like how it looks.

Also, how deep is the scratch? A weird trick for smoothing out light scratches is to rub milk chocolate on them. The chocolate has very fine buffing grit and will help smooth the scratch out. This would only work on fainter lines though. Milk chocolate can fix a skipping CD or DVD and smooth out a watch crystal too!
