Hello all,
I have just made a wonderful trade and now comes the shipping. Has anyone shipped from Canada to the UK? Does anyone know if its better to ship with Canada Post or FedEx, or UPS? Canada Post looks like it goes from small packet air mail for $10 to tracked packet for $47. It's a huge jump! :( I haven't checked Fedex or UPS but I mean if I'm going to spend $47 for Canada Post anyway maybe one of those are a better option. I've always sent to the US with Canada Post light packet (no tracking) and have never had an issue. Any ideas/suggestions//experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I've shipped to the UK before and have rarely used tracking. It's just too expensive in Canada to track anything worth as much as the average pin, even to the US.

The deal with tracking is that it doesn't guarantee your shipment won't get lost. It just a) proves to the recipient that you sent it, and b) pinpoints the step at which it got lost, if it does get lost. I haven't sent THAT many packages with tracking but I haven't noticed untracked packages getting lost at any higher rate than tracked.

What I would do is send the pin untracked, but send a photo of the receipt you get from the post office to the recipient. The receipt should have at least the country and/or post code of where you sent the package, along with the date. This should be proof enough that you sent it.
