I called and got through after a very long wait. They told me Loss Prevention was already closed for the day, but would forward my message and they would either call me back or just take action. I have never heard back from them and I have a new order coming today, so we'll see. I don't have my hopes up based on previous experience with Shop Disney.

I definitely found calling way more effective than e-mail.

I received a shipment of pins a few weeks back that was missing one of the four pins I had ordered. I emailed and asked if they could send me the missing pin (doubtful as it was an LE) or refund me the cost plus tax.

After sending a follow up email or two due to no response, I finally got an email back from them saying they were sorry to hear of the problem and providing me instructions on how I could return the pin for a refund. What?! Return the pin you didn't send me?!

I sent a follow up email explaining how little help that was and reiterating the issue was one of the pins was missing. After again waiting and again following up, I finally picked up the phone. Definitely had to wait on line a bit, but was only about a half hour for me and the person immediately understood and refunded. (She offered the gift card but I took cash. In hindsight, probably should have taken the GC since it was slightly more money.)

Interestingly, a week or two later, I finally got a response to my last email that said that they can see that they sent me the package on X date and I received it on Y date. Thankfully I did not need to reply to again try to explain that I received the package, but not the pin. Who knows what nice helpful response I would get the third time.

You can't make this stuff up.

Just got my package. Two pins in giant box, not on their cards and only one non-mickey pin backer loose in the box. Zero protection and no openings, so the other backer was most likely never there. This is the worst one I've received yet and the phone call obviously didn't help.

I got through yesterday and only took an hour. Day before it quoted me 105 minutes, so I hung up.

So got my Merchpass MMA order today; a plush, ears, and a low cost OE pin I opted for to get free shipping. The plush was in plastic but bar one sheet of tissue everything was loose. I’m glad I got only got the OE pin to wear, the pin made it out okay but the backer card definitely showed signs of bending to bouncing from the lack of packing... [IMG]

My last pin order came in a blue plastic mailer. Not a bubble mailer, just plain plastic. The pins (which are a set on one backing card) were okay, but I was lucky, they were just loose in the bag - no tissue or anything! At least it wasn't a big box!
I kind of just don't understand it. I know some people have issues with Disney as a whole, or they have often had bad customer service, but I feel the opposite way. Except for the packaging of merch. any experience I have had with Disney Customer Service or Guest Relations has been amazing.

Just received some recent orders... they used mylar (no bubbles) on two packages. A third was in their bubble mailer (which if they are going to quickly grab something to ship pins... I really wish they would always quickly grab their bubble mailer.) No big boxes.

One of the pin sets in the mylar (no bubble) envelope was severely bent. So bent that the artwork on the backing card has a tear through it, so there is no flattening it back out to fix it... it is permanently damaged. Looks like I will be calling shopdisney and waiting in the long hold line.

I anticipate shopdisney cast member will be polite and helpful and refund or give me store credit and make the experience nice/fine. But for me it all just begs the question... is it really cheaper to deal with the refunds/credit and frustrated/unhappy customers rather than fix their shipping problems? I guess it must be.

I cannot believe the quality control and packaging has gone down that low. Shouldn't someone be accountable for their actions? Why are they using boxes? Isn't it better to use bubble wrap and bubble envelopes?

Who's idea was it shove the pins in a box without protectioon? I wrap my pins with bubble wrap and mail it in a bubble mailers.

Pin traders do better than shop disney in shipping pins out.

    It's really sad.

Ugh, got an expedited shipment; paid extra, better service right? Wrong... Got home and picked up the box and it sounded like broken glass; Opened it and the tissues is just one layer near the top, meaning a literal bounce house of pins inside the box. End result: two pins are off cards, one LE pin with a significantly bent backer; thankfully all pins themselves seem okay. If these were a series I wanted in mint for my collection or trading purposes, I would be beside myself. Where is their customer complaint button number???

Who in the world uses a box to ship a pin?

If I could knowingly buy more items(such as clothing or plushies) to cushion I would; but it would probably upgrade the package to a larger box making the point moot...

I got my pins from last week's order.

I am happy to say they were not in an unnecessarily large and wasteful box.

I am sad to say they were in a plain non-padded plastic envelope.

I am happy to say they were in a padded bag within that envelope.

I am sad to say they were all in the same padded bag so banging against each other.

I have nothing else I am happy to say.

I am sad to say they didn't bother sealing the envelope so the pins weren't all in it anyway.

I mean, come on! All you had to do was pull off that little bit of paper and use the self sealant on the bag. It's made for that! What is wrong with you people?! You ship thousands of these, why can't you get it right?! Is it really this hard?!

Seriously. I can wrap better than those people. That is unacceptable. When do they terminate the employees and company who's contracting with them? I no longer collect pins but when I sell one. I take care of the packaging. I use a bubble wrap and padded bubble envelope.

Who's the company that has the contract? UPS or Fedex?

I don't think there is a contract. We've received our shopdisney orders from USPS and UPS and FEDEX.

I believe they switched from FedEx to UPS earlier this year when the partnership with USPS switched from FedEx to UPS where there is a shipping method that is cheaper (read slower) where the shipment starts with UPS but final delivery is handled by USPS. Typically a retailer or 3rd party fulfillment company will only use one carrier, if they don't they won't get the best rate from either, UPS and FedEx don't like accounts that aren't exclusive to them. Everything I've received in the last few months has been UPS, USPS, or the UPS/USPS hybrid.

I forget about FedEx sometimes but the only times they have used FedEx has been for my LE dolls (and I haven't gotten those in a couple of years). Every other item I've received from them has been UPS or USPS or UPS SurePost...

Gotta love when they package 2 exact orders totally different. My husband and I each ordered the Cruisers Mine Train Pin and the I collect Pooh pin. Mine came in a box, in perfect condition. His came in a polybag (not bubble mailer) and the Cruisers pin card was all bent up and the bubble dented on the pin. :(

I keep hearing more garbage about shopdisney. Is it time to boycott them? It seems logical the people who are packing the pins need training? You would think they're sick of hearing complaints from customers.

Its very simple pack properly or face the consequences.

OK I called today to try this out. (see my original post). I waited on hold 40 minutes (not bad) and explained to the CM that I'd heard about this and wanted to try it. She had no idea what I was talking about so another 10 min on hold while she researched it, then she said I was all set and gave me a confirmation number. So, we'll see, if my future orders come packaged properly.

I haven't bought anything online from them during the parks shut down because I'm too worried my items will arrived damaged and I'll be stuck with a store credit instead of a refund, but also I'm honestly salty they don't let you use an AP code for a discount.

Paying full price plus expensive shipping for my pins with the worry if they'll even arrive undamaged? No thanks

After many times of one or two pins arriving in a giant box, today I had 4 limited pins and a mystery box arrive in a non-padded envelope. The mystery box was completely smooshed and the backing card of one of the other pins was seriously bent. Fortunately none of the pins themselves appear to be damaged, but really, Disney needs to get it together!

This picture is missing two of the pins (Aladdin Genie cereal box and Pirate Day) as I originally took it to text to my mom in a conversation about just the Pluto pins.

Shipment 1 of 4 arrived today. The contents were one Alien Anger pin. It came in an 11x14 bubble mailer with the pin loose inside. The pin itself is in good condition (I think having the pin in a plastic sleeve helped protect it) but the backer card is slightly bent.

After 3 phone calls, I finally received a shipment of two pins in a big box rolled up in bubble wrap to protect them. I was so happy that they appeared to actually flag my account for careful packaging. Then the next package was two pins loose in a non-padded large envelope with no protection. I give up!

I received my order from the last August release that include the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Park Cruiser. I ordered enough pins to qualify for free shipping but totally spaced on adding the code (this is where I wish it was automated) and just didn't have enough time to call and get the charge reversed. Low and behold the first time my box came in tact with no holes, dirt, rub marks, etc on the box. I mean the box is in such a nice condition that I'm going to reuse to to send someone stuff. Only downfall was the pins were not bagged in the box which I have gotten a few times. What was really nice is they left the bubble bag on the Park Cruiser to keep it protected and that was the only pin I cared about since the last one flew out of a big hole in my box.

I honestly don't know nor do I recommend to pay for the shipping charge but it sure is coincidental that the time I paid for the shipping I got my best box ever.
